Final layouts for purple and yellow

This is the same layout as my quilt that was in "Strips that Sizzle", the quilt that I sold. I haven't found the setting triangle fabric yet and that may take awhile. Here are the leftover blocks. I sewed the star quilt top last night. Pictured below it are the remaining blocks. The star takes more dark blocks than light ones, and the sewing technique produces an equal amount of each.
I purchased the newest Kaffe book last week. I didn't get a chance to look at it until the weekend.

I am so in love with this log cabin quilt made with all of his fabrics. I know I will have to make my version of it. Today is part 2 of the Strips that Sizzle class at the quilt shop. I hope they have made lots of blocks to play with in the layouts.

ok, I'm officially obssessed!! My new project list is growing by leaps and bounds on a DAILY basis. I HAVE to make this log cabin. It's stunning. I absolutely LOVE the large flower in the center of each block. Does anyone know where I can get some more time??? They don't seem to carry it at the local stores.......LOL

Love the quilt top. I get worn out just looking at all you accomplish in the sewing room. Do you ever sleep? LOL!

Love your layout and I remember it from the Strips That Sizzle book. In fact, I got it out and refreshed my memory. It's a gorgeous quilt! I like the diamond layout too, though.

I'm finally getting my shipment of Kaffe's books. I've been patiently waiting! I'm going to kit quite a few of the quilts in the book, but I can't wait to see your version of the log cabin.

I love both of them! I need to make myself some hand dyed sets and make one of these quilts.

The lime and purple combo is my favorite regardless of which layout you use. I have put Kaffe's book in my cart at Amazon. I think I'll go order it right after I post this.

Love the final layout of the purple and yellow. And was pleased to see you were able to layout the star and shadow boxes with leftovers. The star takes my breath away with its beauty. Those two are my favorite layouts with the purple and green also.

Wanda, Your layouts are terrific!! I just love them both! I can't wait to get the new Kaffe book. From what I have seen on several blogs there are some great quilts in that book.

Purple and Yellow is awesome. Absolutely stunning. The book looks wonderful...although i think you should make a book of your own. Your quilts are that of inspiration and awe.

That is part of the fun of teaching the class...to see it made up into lots of colors without sewing it yourself.
