I started sewing the 9 patch quilt top around lunch time. I resumed sewing when 3 NCIS shows came on at 7 p.m. The shows were a crossover so it was like a 3 hour movie.
I finished sewing the top at 10 p.m. so it was too late to turn on the iron. The seams are matched pretty well in spite of not having nesting seams most of the way through the stitching. I will plan the pressing better on the next 9 patch, probably a batik one since I have a whole box of 2" batik strips that were cut many years ago.
We had sunshine for many hours yesterday, after a long spell of gloomy days. Unfortunately it is going to get cloudy again with only a small chance of sunshine here and there over the next few days.

I noted that you said that you don't have nesting seams everywhere in this quilt. Could you show the back and explain what you do in those cases? I just had that problem and I would love to know what an expert quilter does.
Thank you.
Well, still no sunshine here. Great work finishing all those seams. I got a couple of blocks fixed in the one I put on the wall. Trying to get back to normal.
I watch the NCIS shows on Paramount and not always right away what show did the cross over start on and I will make sure to watch them in the correct order.
I don't always have nesting seams either but it seems to work out ok.
I try to have nesting seams--but I find it difficult to think ahead enough.
This is a really pretty quilt...nice that you got it all sewn together--phew--a lot of work doing that!!
Still in the upper 30's here today--we went grocery shopping early this morning and the Packzi are out!! Yay!!-We got ourselves some for a treat with coffee when we got home...yum!!

9 Patch looks great to me… all looks so perfectly matched. Three hours bent over your sewing machine is a long time for sure.
No let up in our weather here either. Makes for another dreary day. But the days go by just as fast as with sun.

Great job getting that top all sewn together yesterday. That was a lot of hours at the machine!
Great effort getting your quilt top together. Looking good!
