Looking for a little brightness to sew, I went to the box of pieces and parts for 3" finished units. There were lots of quarter square triangles and squares already cut from scraps. I found enough matching to make 8 new blocks.
I had a stack of the Ohio Star blocks from previous sewing sessions and put them all up on the design wall.
Maybe they need a little space between them. They might all end up in the orphan block box but I'm having fun and isn't that what it's all about?
I found some tomatoes that taste almost as good as the ones fresh from the garden. I bought these all winter last year and I was happy to find them again.

My first thought was, I like them with a bit of breathing room, as the second picture. Upon looking again I decided I like the first picture as well. So, either way looks really good. Lovely colors too.
Bright colors are what we need right now!! Fun arrangements.
yes when working with a neutral color quilt it is nice to switch to something that is bright color too.
Those Campari tomatoes are the only store bought one I buy now. I know they are probably greenhouse grown, but they are perfect for adding to a salad or even slicing for a sandwich.

I like the blocks right next to each other. It keeps my eye moving around more. I see stars, then blocks with "home plate" in the corners. Or maybe it's the fish I see that gives me a giggle? (2nd photo, left column, 1st block, it's swimming to the right)
We love the Campari tomatoes - they are THE BEST of the ones at the store. Love the bright colors (and I prefer them with a little bit of air space between the blocks).
Yes, your fun day yesterday is so warm and welcoming. Love those blocks with space between each, also. Their beauty just glows so much more.
Thats a mid west tomato package, a new one to me. Salad looks so delicious especially with your tomatoes .
Looking forward to seeing another fun day from you.

Yes, besides grape or cherry tomatoes, those Campari are the best! Thanks for
reminding me about them. I rarely comment, but sure appreciate all you share. You've likely answered this question in the past and I missed it, but you are so prolific in your quilt making (I admire your dedication and work ethic) - what do you do with all your quilts? Keep? Give-away to family and friends? Charity? Thanks for everything you share.
I agree with MissPat. Campari are the only tomatoes I will buy, and I only buy them if we don’t have any homegrown. They aren’t very big, but I will even slice them for my sandwich because they are so good.
Love the blocks. Of the two layouts, I like them best with space between them.
I will have to look for those tomatoes at my store. The tomatoes I bought last time did not have any flavor.
Oh, those are a nice break from the neutral blocks!
Definitely nice bright Ohio Stars, I've always loved this block.
Tomatoes, I see I am in good company as these are the ones we buy here, so, so tasty but worth paying that little extra in our stores for them.
