9 patches, knitting, snow, and not in that order.............

Our average normal temperature on this date is 32 degrees.  We have been slightly above average most of the time but this is what we got up to yesterday.  We have been lucky to only have a light covering about 3 times so far this winter.

The snow was on the south sides of the tree trunks so it wasn't the cold north wind with this one.  The next 10 days we will be above normal again, by a few degrees anyway.

The 9 patch stratas were cut into sections late in the afternoon and last night I sewed 21 more 9 patches.  I think I'll count today and see how many I have finished.

When the news and weather came on I switched to knitting to finish this dishcloth I have been working on in spare minutes for about 2 weeks.

I'm still working on sorting and organizing the sewing spaces.  If you missed it, in 2013 I had a studio tour on one post.  You can find it by clicking on Studio on my label list (32 entries with that label) but I'll save you some time if you are interested and you can click here.  A lot of things have changed in 9 years but the space is still the same.

The weather is so up and down. All the snow is gone from the big storm due to warm temps and rain. However, the Lake is still unfrozen so the "right" wind pattern can still make havoc. I have not sewn one stitch and it is hard. My mom had a brain bleed before New Years and have been doing all the hospital/rehab/legal stuff along with her attitude.

Yes, the weather is really up and down. Two days ago, I woke up to temps in the high 50s. Today is more of our usual January with a 28 for the early morning temp.

There was some light snow coming down on my way to work this morning, but nothing is sticking. I think it quit now. That dish cloth is very Christmassy looking - very pretty!

Our weather can be stated in one word: GRAY! lately...a bit colder this morning at 38 with a few sprinkles...
9 patches are looking so pretty spread out together...
I love that dishcloth with the variegated yarn...I just began a turquoise one for evening tv watching...a few rows a day...hugs, Julierose

The cars were moving slowly on the highway early Wednesday/Thursday mornings, so the roads were icy, but not much snow fell. Not too cold for a few days, so I better finish hauling the decorations to the attic. So happy it all can stack on the attic steps until my energy and the temperatures up there cooperate!

I should haul out some yarn and needles and give knitting another shot. I can do purl OR knit stitch, but combining them or doing increases and decreases...not so much. You'd think by the number of knitting books I have that I really know how to knit.

I enjoyed looking back at your studios. That's yet another "should" on my list - clean up my sewing room!

our weather switched back to normal for this time of year up and down in the 50's and 40's which of course usually means that the second half of the month well be more wintry or February will be - we all no it won't last forever - the 30's and 20's will come back at some point this winter

It was fun visiting your studios again. I hope all your new followers take time to visit, your photos “speak order than words”.

Nice work stitching your stratas together and a knitted dish cloth too.

Hello Wanda, I have a question about how you fold fabric. You seem to lay it out flat. I have not seen anyone else do this. I am tempted to change and follow your example but that is a huge effort. It does make sense that it would not put pressure on the threads on that extra fold. Could you talk about this on an upcoming post?
You have an amazing eye for colour wash quilts that extends to all of your quilts. Your blog is always a good read. Thank you.

We had a little snow here today too, maybe an inch. I looked at your studio tour from 2013--it's like a whole house quilt studio--how fabulous is that!

Oh, Wanda, I had to take the studio tour again. And again I love it all! I called Mr. Muddling over and he loved it, too. I am blessed to have a supportive husband who never complains about my fabric addiction.
What a blessing to have a space that is tailored to your own particular creativity, and what a blessing to us for you to share your adventures!

Strangely enough I was looking through the photos from the 2013 blog tour a few days ago, as a result I moved a few things around in the small space I use, still not quite what I should like but I'm getting there≥
