#3 quilt top for January 2023
I was happy so many people agreed that the 16 patch blocks made a good addition to this quilt top. I just had to add a single strip of squares to the bottom to make the column the right length. This quilt top is 50" x 66". I just need to add the staystitching all around the perimeter and it will go in the line up for quilting at a future date.
I brought my 4 pots of Begonias into the garage before the first freeze and they are in a dormant state. I decided to bring one in and pull off the dead leaves and water it. (It was half green and half dead leaves in the garage.) It is sending up some very tiny blooms so I'm happy with the color during this overcast January. I have buds on 2 Cacti but only a few. I'm hoping there will be a good period of second blooming soon. I have also brought in 2 Amaryllis bulbs from last year and am hoping for second year blooms.

The rows of squares make the quilt more interesting and it finished well. I have some fancy leaf geraniums I am trying to overwinter and some coleus cuttings. They do give some color and life to a very dull winter.
it is always nice to have plants blooming or growing at this time of year - it helps us along mentally I think until we actually get spring.
Love how the quilt top turned out
Lovely neutral quilt with those 16 patches and the additional squares!!
Begonias were my grand-mere's favorite plant; she always had a couple in her sunny window...
Only 31 this morning; still overcast with no sun in sight...Looks like a rainy week ahead, too...Hugs, Julierose
We all need some green right about now! Your neutral quilt top is lovely - three tops so far this month!!!
This is a lovely quilt. Do you keep your plants under a light in the garage?
There is a lovely frosty sparkle to your neutral, like looking at foliage in our gardens right now. Its called winter beauty .
And then to see your begonia with blossoms, is showing spring is on the way.

Applause, applause!!!!!
Hugs!
Love that quilt. Its perfect. The begonia is a pretty color in dreary winter for sure
I do like the row of 16 patch blocks you added. It adds so much interest to this beautiful top!
I thought I had eft a few words here for you on your addition of the side blocks, brilliant!
