HSTeria quilt along Friday............

My new triangle project is still in the design stage.  The 9 blocks in the center are pieced, the borders are partially pieced in rows.  Since I haven't finalized the triangle border, I can't sew the cross seams in the borders until I add them on.  I have been working on this at our Thursday sew ins.  Since they are just 10" blocks this will probably be a wallhanging.

The block patterns came from 2 different sources.  The 5 blocks pattern is from this blog.  After I saw the block I drew it on graph paper.  Then I found the 4 blocks pattern in the first Material Obsession book and since they were both a grid of 5 squares, they work very well together.

Click on the HSTeria quilt along button on my right side bar to see what everyone else is doing with their triangles.

I knew it would look great no matter what you chose to do. Colors pop off of the neutral background. Chris

I am so behind on blog reading! This is looking great. I love the last quilt... has bit of shimmer to it and this one looks like tops spinning!

I like both blocks. Great combo.

Wanda, the polar vortex block in the second row, first block looks like a tulip block to me. I am thinking that blocks made with different tulip colors and greens for the leaves and centers would be really neat. I just love tulips and this block looks like a bunch of tulips. Thanks for the link; I was able to find the tutorial for her block on her blog. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, look how pretty! Another blue block! :) I like the borders, you know how visual I am so seeing them is SO much better than trying to visualize. Looks great (as always)...shouts HAPPY SPRING! What's next, projectwise? >>>>>>>>>>

I love the combination of these two blocks. It is so much more interesting than each standing alone.

This is just so bright and cheery. Best yet, nothing beats a "freebie" quilt. I love getting 2 for one deals! LOL!!

This is great. I particularly like the 5 block pattern. Looks like a fancy pin-wheel block and is very happy, somehow. Triangles really do give a lot of movement, which is one reason I regret not using them more. I just prefer to stick to what's easier to cut and sew: squares and strips. But I really should remind myself to add at least some triangles, for the movement and change of pace! You inspire me.

I, too, love the combination of blocks in this design. I didn't care much for the MO block when I saw it popping up in swap blocks, but I think it looks great in combination with the other block. Widening my perspective, again! Thanks for teaching.
