Last night I started sewing the larger of the 2 Target log cabin quilt tops. I took out the one dark block and stole a light block from the smaller quilt. I will make one more bright block for that quilt. I am sewing this together in the method that I have shown previously in a tutorial.

Signature quilts....
One of the ladies at the QOV sew-in yesterday was assembling some signature blocks into a quilt top. More info about that can be found at our group's blog.
Here is a finished top that they display at the Farmer's Markets and other locations. If you are in the Aurora, IL area you may want to check out the locations mentioned on the blog.

I just read your tutorial on sewing a ll the rows together. What an ingenious method. of course I do it the slow way.
I really like the combination of the signature squares and 4-patches. Great idea!
The signature quilt has such a nice layout.
Thank you for all your tutorials! I'm looking forward to following your instructions for one of these as soon as I finish my current project.
That is a great signature block pattern.
I would hate to count the number of times I have sewn rows together wrong.
So glad you opted to make two quilts from your target log cabin blocks ... they're wonderful and making two allows ALL the colors to shine.
Such an incredible quilt... just stunning!
Will have to try your way of sewing blocks/rows together... my way takes for-ever and a day...
I like your method of sewing the rows together. If only I had a bigger design wall I'd sure do it that way. The signature blocks are so pretty, they remind me of dog tags, which is really appropriate! And I see you've found the perfect fabric for the setting squares. That is one gorgeous quilt!
Really like it! What size blocks are these? Thank you!
Thank you for the inspiration. I have a heap of signature blocks and just needed that push to make them into something!
Oh, I like the signature quilt. What a great idea! And I really like your target log cabin.
Love the quilt. Looking at your tutorial, maybe that would be a way to NOT get the blocks and rows mixed up! Have to try it.
Love the log cabin target quilt! The colors are fabulous -- really lifts my spirits to see it!
Oh my, oh my, oh my! (Can you tell I still love the Target Log Cabin quilt?)
What a great QOV website. Thanks for sharing it. Love the pictures of the returning vets.
Love the signature quilt! Thanks for the link. I have read your tutorial before, but it never hurts to refresh my memory. Thanks. And I love the target log cabin quilt!
