I made 2 more stars with more purple and less green and I like them. I need to do some more like that. I added one more light fabric, the points on the left star and the corner squares on the right block.I have the blocks on a small portable design wall that is only 30" x 40" so they didn't all fit.

I really like it with the lighter blocks. What a difference it makes.
That's it! Enjoying watching the fabric auditioning process. *karendianne.
I love both of the new stars and they go really great together for the contrast.
Love, love, love the new blocks! They are just what you needed.
Yup. Lookin' great.
Love the purple with the light star points. That will add the twinkle. This is going to be stunning.
Amazing what the addition of the light blocks does for the entire look of the quilt. It just seems to sparkle while before it seemed rather moody. I love watching the progress of how you design your quilts. I hope you are staying warm these days with the deep freeze.
These block are wonderful love the lights in them. You have been a busy gal. Have not checked out your blog in a few days and I always enjoy your inspiration. Chili looks good too. :)
While I liked the original block colours I was thinking it was leaning more to sombre than rich but these lights lift the mood in a lovely way. Wonderful.
I love your lighter blocks! What a difference they make to the overall look. Keep playing and I will keep coming back to enjoy!
While you're joining them, the stars dissolve and reappear. An interesting effect.
Perfet - that was just what was needed! :)
The lights in these blocks are just perfect! I think you will be pleased with them when finished.
Gorgeous Stars!! Batiks are my favorite and I like the lights and darks, gives the quilt more interest.
Those are my colors. I do love purple and green. This is going to be the best quilt ever!
Of course I had to enlarge the photo. It explodes on my screen with gorgeous richness of a true tapestry.

Great stars, Wanda - I especially like the ones with light blocks that offer more contrast between the dark and light. You do such wonderful playing- I am sure it will be another lovely piece.
Such glorious colors- so vivid and rich are those batiks.
Do you ever have any trouble with color fastness or fading of your fabrics? I asked about Kaffe Fassett fabrics in a LQS and they
said they had some problems with fading along the fold and as well as color fastness so they chose not to carry them. She said perhaps it was just bad luck or chance but they decided not to carry them again.
I know you have had lots of KF fabrics in your collection so I thought I would ask.
Have a great Sunday- I am off to quilt..
Regards,
Anna
A much better balance. There is a little bit of rest now.
Hi Wanda (aka Energizer Bunny),
It looks like you are right, you need to have the light stars in there to balance the medium/darks.
Not my colors but beautiful nonetheless.
Keep warm.

Great color choices -- this quilt comes in time for the Mardi Gras Season. If the Saints win the Super Bowl, Mardi Gras will be all year long here in South Louisiana.
Great colors! I love the purple addition. Can't wait to see it completed it will be gorgeous!
Lovely color decisions, as always. I agree with the comments above and appreciate your decision to add lights to the blocks. Much more definitive contrast.
I love green + purple, but I've never seen them with the richness you have here. The blocks make me think of a key lime pie with grape jelly. Sounds like a terrible taste combination, but visually it's a feast for the eyes.
I love all the star blocks.
Just to say it's so interesting to see your design process and the great colours you use.
I very much admire your (and Julie's) idea for the charity project too.It has pushed me to think of contibuting something to Project Linus here in the UK, though one a week is something I'll have to admire from afar!
I love how this is shaping up -- the colours are so rich and the block design is wonderful!
Heart be still... I LOVE these colors together.. my favorite combos.. this is going to be fab
