Here is an aerial view of my childhood home, toward the bottom right. Follow the road to the left up to the next crossroad and that is the little one room school I walked to in first and second grade.
Ah, yes - the good old days! We walked to school on a road that is today a busy 4 or 6 lane road. Sometimes we rode our bikes and occasionally we would get a ride. It was less than a mile.
I'm trying to imagine a life where there are no immediate neighbors. I've only known the suburbs, for better or worse. So I'm fascinated by the thought of being so isolated from other people. As a child, you must've developed quite an imagination. Thanks for sharing.

Weren't those aerial photos something? We have one of our farm, but it's not quite so flat in MN.
You need to contact your local Historical Society. This stuff is precious!

I grew up in a very similar area except we had a little creek behind the house. I love looking at these old photos.

I love those arial photos. Looks like you didn't have a lot of neighbors!!!! Our farm was the same way growing up.
Wow, it's so flat. I guess that's why the roads are all so straight, there are no natural obstacles to make them curvy.
