Just doodling

I was in the studio last night, but all I did was try to clean off the cutting table and then I found an idea I had scribbled on a piece of paper. I spent some time redrawing it and making notes for myself. This design would use all of my trays of 2.5" squares and 2.5" x 4.5" rectangles and would be a scrap quilt, not the same fabrics in every block. I spent part of the morning yesterday helping a friend measure her quilt tops and cutting backings. Then I ran errands. The computer club party was in the evening and the food was great. My cookies barely got touched because so many other people brought dessert. Only 2 others had signed up for it according to the newsletter, but a bunch more brought some pretty elaborate desserts. I sent home a bunch of cookies and fudge with my friend Louise.

Great to find a design that will use a lot of what you already have cut!

Great idea, designing a quilt to use up scraps. I would love to see your finished product on that one.

I love your sketch of this future quilt. Will you be working on it soon? If I were at your computer club, I most definitely would have had some of your fudge for sure.

Pet peeve of mine...

One of our work holiday parties was so lopsided on the desserts, they should have called it a cupcake feast. (That one I could have skipped...) Yesterday's party in contrast was only missing sweet potatoes - we had everything from turkey & ham to vegeterian options!

Hi Wanda, I don't think anyone really appreciated the cookies more than my granddaughter and her boyfriend. They gobbled them up the minute I put the plate on the table. They raved on and on how delicious they were. I had to hide the fudge..and only got one ginger cookie. So for all the elaborate desserts , nobody knew what they were missing ! Somehow, everyone thinks Christmas is all about cool whip and whip cream.
Thank You for the goodies !

Wish I had been there. But then you would not have had any cookies left at all! The design on you new quilt looks good. Using up precut pieces is always nice. Can't wait to see it.

You could have sent the fudge to my place, I hear it mailed just fine ;-) Sounds like fun was had. Your design idea looks great, and once you add your fab eye for color it will come alive!

Nice way to end the year, and to begin the New Year by finding a long forgotten sketch to work from.

All your work making spritz cookies and fudge... LUCKY Louise ! They made my mouth water.

Fancy desserts over home-baked cookies? I'd take the cookies any day! :-)
Your quilt design looks like a fun one to stitch! Now you have me thinking!

Hi Wanda
Even your "doodles" look organized! No wonder you get so much done.

Cookies are my favorite dessert, so I would have eaten some. And spritz cookies look so simple but taste rich.
