Final Christmas sewing

I finished making 15 flannel pillowcases for all the members of the family to choose their favorite. I made the European style with the flap on the inside to tuck the end of the pillow into. This way the pillowcase just fits the pillow without the extra length of a normal pillowcase.
I was pleased to see another flower blooming on the orange Christmas cactus.
I love the contrasting hot pink part.
There is a pink bud or two opening on the other plant too.
We had a 20 degree drop in temperature yesterday, starting out with rain and ending up with snow so we had our white Christmas. Our party is tonight so I hope we don't get too much more snow.

I'm sure your family will love the pillow cases. I like that style. The pillow never slips out.

They look great and I am sure they will be well received. I have to look into that style not sure how that is made. Your Christmas cactus is beautiful. Have fun today

Christmas cactus are so beautiful. I thought of you last night while I was sewing. I had things to tell you but I'm leaving them for the USPS to share. Somethings are better left for a Hallmark. :)

I hope it slows up as far as the weather is concerned for we want a silent night for safe drivers. I'll put that request in as soon as my fingers are done typing!

Wonderful pillowcases. What a neat way to put them together. Both of your Christmas cactus are just lovely. They really look like they are going to town. Enjoy your party today!

I like that pillowcase idea. I will have to see if I can find a tutorial on those!

I'm not familiar with that style of pillowcase but it seems like a great idea. Is there a tutorial on it?

Lovely pillowcases. And the cactus are beautiful. I was given one for Christmas, but I don't know what to do for it. I've heard they don't take much upkeep, but then again I don't have any kind of green thumb ;-)

Lovely pillowcases!! I had a Christmas cactus for many years and one summer it died. I had it in the window on the shady side of the house, but it must have gotten too hot. I should get another one, those blooms make me happy.

I like your European style pillow case. Great gift for each and everyone. Flannel yet ~ perfect for those cold winter nights in Illinois. Fun prints to select from.

The pillowcases are lovely.
The Christmas cactus photos are super -- that orange flower with the hot pink is amazing!
We have had nothing but rain now for 24 hours. Odd Christmas!

Hi Wanda,
I hope your Christmas party goes well and everyone has safe travels.

I, too, am curious about that style of pillowcase. I wonder if it is similar to Charlotte's "tidy" pillowcase (Charlotte's Sew Natural, Newton Kansas). I'll have to look for directions on that style.
Beautiful Christmas cactus, right on cue.
