The new Kaffe collectives...........

The new Kaffe collective fabrics are out so I had to get a few.  The fall season is when Brandon and Phillip create new prints and Kaffe just recolors some of his older fabrics.

I think these three look great together.

I started quilting my colorwash wallhanging while I watched 2 hours of TV last night.  It is about 3/4 done.

When the fallen tree was going to get cut up and I thought my seed bed might get trampled I dug up 3 of the Four o'clocks and planted them in pots.  This one was slow getting going and finally has buds.  It looks like white or yellow.  I hope it will finally bloom.  I need to get these 3 planted back in the ground soon.  The other 2 are red.

I rarely ever plant flower seeds but this year I tried it.  These are Snapdragons.  It took them 2 months to come up and now I'm finally getting blooms after 4 months.  I'm not sure it was worth the effort.

I really like the fabrics in the second picture. Sigh, more temptations!

You're going to have fun cutting and sewing those new fabrics and I'll have fun watching your progress. Hope the 4 o'clock survive but a pity about the snap dragons. If they flower and you can get seeds then just drop them in the soil you'd like to see them flower again next year. I often scatter seeds and wait to see what comes up haha. It's turned quite cold today, 12c/53f but should be a bit warmer next week, fingers crossed. Enjoy your sewing this weekend :)

I started snapdragons from seeds last year and I also was disappointed with them at the time, but they survived the winter and were really beautiful this second year. Hopefully, yours will be as well.

I don't normally buy Kaffe since it is so pricey, but I did find a piece last night when I was cleaning. It made me think of you. I really like that fabric combination you showed.

The snapdragons usually come up again so don't pull them out. It will depend on the severity of the winter and if they're in a good spot. I usually get at least two years out of them. (I am not so far from where you live.)

I have several quilts in mind for next year that will include lots of my KF stash -so far I've added only a couple of the new ones (the black/white combo you showed).

I had so many issues with seeds this year, both inside (tomatoes, okra) and outside (green beans, beets, carrots, okra) either being very slow to emerge or not at all. Or they'd emerge and then do nothing. I had one cherry tomato that took 2 1/2 months to sprout and then stayed an inch tall until late August. There are so many variables to seed starting - cover? don't cover? soak overnight? nick the seeds? how long to start before last frost date? how long is the seed good for?... I don't do much any more.

I really like that combination in the 2nd photo!

I cut my snapdragon heads off when they have finished flowering and the plants lasts for years.
Love the dramatic black and white fabrics.

Pretty fabrics! Those B&W ones do look good together. It would be nice if the four o'clocks bloom and go to seed. Having the white or yellow ones mixed with the red and pink one would be nice.
