Another project...........

I started cutting for this quilt about 2 months ago but had to take it off the design wall when the art quilters were coming.  I have to find a lot of different fabrics to try for the triangles because I'm not happy with all of the ones I have cut so far.  This is inspired by the Cascade pattern by SpringLeaf Studios.  The one on the pattern cover is greens and turquoise and very pretty.  I wanted to try it in red, orange and pink.

I could see a little red glint in the sunshine in the backyard and grabbed my camera.  I think it is a purple finch.  It stayed for a long time eating under the feeders and drinking from the birdbath.  I see them off and on but not as regular visitors to my feeders.

Snow is predicted today, maybe up to 4".  I wonder if it will happen......70 degrees predicted for Tuesday........crazy spring weather.

I love the reds Wanda, the pattern also. I made one using this pattern for my grand-daughter around three years ago using pink/lavender and turquoise, really enjoyed the process.

Seems many times your colorful birds companion with your quilts you feature for the day. (^._,^) And I thought yesterday's OBW was radiant this one is radiant also. Such a pretty color scheme and pattern.

We have loads of red finches year round - they're happy little birds. We've just ended a day with over 3" of rain and temps going from the 70s to the 30s by late today. Plus the pollen - spring is so wonderful but the elements keep us indoors (sigh).

The quilt is looking real beautiful- nice juicy color for the rainy gray day we are having here.

Love the looks of your new project! I’m betting you did get snow ;-( But it won’t stay long.

Love this version of Cascade. Very juicy as someone else commented. I'm hoping to make another version later this year and was thinking of reds too although I might be leaning towards adding oranges and yellow. Can't wait to see this one finished up. Thanks for the credit.
