A new cutting die..............

I like to take advantage of sales and especially on free shipping so I got a new cutting die.  This is a block I don't enjoy making by other methods but I love the block.  I made a sample last night.  That is my bin of good size batik scraps and I do my pressing and preparing a little at a time.
This is the other optional coloration.   I haven't decided if they will be both light and dark blocks as shown on the package insert or like this sample.  I can see this project being a fill in while working on others.  When I have the iron on to press something else I'll press about 20 pieces of batik and sort them by light and dark so they are ready for cutting.

I also got the batting cut for 2 quilts yesterday so now I need to work on the backings for them.

I'm a bit behind in commenting, but want to say that your January quilts are exceptionally lovely, even for you! The Orphan Blocks is just masterful - so much to see! And the One Block Wonder is beautiful.

Thanks for sharing your work.

I have been considering that die. I think it would make pineapple blocks more fun/less tedious to make.

it has been awhile since I made a pineapple quilt - cutting or one is tedious. I hadn't thought to make a two color and in the past made multi-color

Good morning, Wanda,
What a delight to see that you have yet another spectacular project underway. You create quite a lively tempo by beginning a new challenge and working on finishing up previously made quilts at the same time. Your amaryllis photos have been so inspiring that I just bought four on sale to start now. They were quite a bargain and should provide wonderful blooms in muddy March. Top of the morning to you!

You've never done the pineapple block before? I think it makes for a dramatic look.

Love your log cabin samples. I have made three or four, the last being a star log cabin in blue and gold with my grandsons school logo in the four corners which was a huge challenge.

I watched the Pineapple Die video on the Accuquilt site this morning and was impressed. I particularly like the white letters on each of the pieces-- will make it easier to keep the pieces straight. Accuquilt isn't having a great sale, but quiltinady.com has the die slightly reduced and gives free shipping on accuquilt dies.
I've always wanted to make one of those quilts and I've gone so far as to buy one of the Creative Grids rulers for them, but this way looks so much easier...

I haven't seen that die. Which is probably a good thing. I have so many things ready to jump on when I can. I really like your one block wonder. It is gorgeous. And you know I like the red and white. I should move on to another color, but I do so love it. As always, you are an inspiration to me. Thank you.

I've been looking at that die too. I'll be eager to hear what you think of it.

I reckon having the die is a great idea. I made a pineapple quilt around thirty years ago for my son and the process would have been a whole lot easier with this die. I see you're taking the scrappy route for this, lovely!
