Good morning, Wanda. Do you have any special procedures for the care of your cacti? Do you put them in dark half the year, give them a feeding periodically, or do they just do so well in a home where showing beautiful colors is truly appreciated?
I lucked out yesterday and found 3 Christmas cactus at Trader Joes. I am not sure of the colors completely as the buds were closed, but it looked like light pink, orange, and a dark purplish. I have red and fuschia and red orange, but I love them so much!
At least I get to see your pretty cactus blossoms. As you know I got one early blossom and the rest dried up and fell off. I was expecting a beautiful show this year... It was good to read that julierose said she had blossoms dry up and fall off. You Wanda, have the magic touch for blossoming Christmas cactus.
In response to the problem of bud drop on Christmas cacti, there are multiple reasons this might occur. I suggest doing a Google search for "bud drop on Christmas cactus". Readers will get multiple hits for advice. Many of these sources say long periods of darkness are necessary, but my experience is that plants will bloom without special treatment like that needed by poinsettias. This comment is aimed at your readers, Wanda, as it is clear you don't need the advice. Pat

Just beautiful Wanda.
That’s a big flower, very pretty. I’m amazed at how long it takes for the buds to open. One plant of mine has buds but they are so slow to open.
