I washed the Kaffe rectangles quilt and dried it in the dryer. It shrunk almost 3" in both directions. The heavier backing fabric softened quite a bit and I'm happy with the way it looks and feels now.

Because most of my quilted pieces are wall hangings or table runners, I do not machine wash them. I'd love for you to share some thoughts about why and how you do so???
I'm glad to hear the backing soften up with the washing. it looks great
Your 'nap quilt' looks nice and cozy, I love what a washing and drying does to most quilts. I'm sure we'll see your Colorwash completed by Year end.

Beautiful inspiration today. Thanks.
Shame about the shrinkage but hopefully still a good size for your recliner. You have a lovely collection of batiks in the colourwash in the top photo, what is the size Wanda?
