I didn't get home from shopping until 2 p.m. I think I'm all done now...I hope anyway.
Last night I baked the first batch of chocolate Spritz cookies. They are all to go in the boxes I'm mailing. Then I have to make another batch for the family here. I need to do a batch of plain (not chocolate) Spritz this morning and then start packing boxes.
I have 3 bud stalks started on one of my Amaryllis plants. I'm not sure what color this one is supposed to be but I think it is red and white.

The cookies look good! The amaryllis is amazing! It is hard to believe how that bulb produces those bud stalks. How do they fit inside that bulb? LOL!!!
Wanda....it is so inspiring to see you with that full creative, social, and domestic calendar! Your "medical alert" earlier this year might have pointed to a less active holiday season. So hurrah for your renewed energy and enthusiasm. Best wishes....................
I have used the same Spritz recipe (with variations) for YEARS and this year I can't find the magazine! Granted I've only looked for about five minutes but it's not where it's supposed to be! I love the simplicity of a good Spritz cookie. Merry Christmas, Wanda.
Having buds on your Amaryllis plants must be like opening presents, not sure what's inside. They really are beautiful flowers, and it's a shame they don't last longer. I finally finished baking on Sunday, but will make some chocolate fruit and nut bark today. I have the dried fruits cut up, the nuts roasted and the coconut all ready to sprinkle on the melted chocolate. So easy, and so yummy.
the two amaryllis that I have were supposed to be red and white but they turned out to be pure white I have never had any like that and they are much taller than any I have had before. This morning when I woke up I found one had tipped over and was on the kitchen counter but hadn't broke. I had to put in a second support to hold it up. I need to measure them later and see how tall they are.
Those cookies look delicious. Cookie baking is on my list for today.
I look forward to watching the amaryllis grow and bloom.
I always marvel at your spritz cookies. My memories of making them were flat pancakes and gave away the appliance. I am waiting for buds on my new Christmas cactus to open so I really know what color they are.
I could tell you were moving yesterday when I checked the dashboard last night. (^._.^) ). I 'think' and HOPE I'm done shopping too. Some cookies yet to make then I can catch up with you.... (^._.^).

Today is present wrapping day for the early celebration this weekend with elder son and family before they fly off to her family's home for Christmas week. We made spritz cookies when I was a child - but always vanilla, never chocolate (sigh).
