The next two blocks are done, numbers 6 and 7.
I cut the purple pieces to the right lengths so I can sew this block today. I just have to decide what the last color will be and get the pieces cut. I want to be able to show this top in my trunk show Thursday night. If you missed the post with the information, here it is again.
I will be giving a trunk show program (about 60 quilts and tops) for the DeKalb County Quilters Guild. If you live anywhere near here and would like to come, the location is St. Mary’s Parrish Annex, 210 Waterman Street, Sycamore, IL 60178. There is a $5 guest fee. Thursday June 26 2014 at 7 p.m.

Nothing like a deadline!!!
What a show/program it will be. Hope there are lots of photos posted about this epic trunk show! Knock their socks off, Wanda.
The selection of purples is so varied in both color and style. This will be a fun block.
See you there, Wanda !! This is my next project !
Hi Wanda,
Question: when you have a large stash (like yours), I wonder if you have an easier time pulling fabrics for a quilt such as this....or is it harder to pick "just" 24 blues, for example? Hard to narrow it down to 24, and get the right mix? Or just fun? For me, picking fabrics is one of the best parts of making a quilt.
I made a batik table runner this weekend for my oldest daughter - she's moving to Texas tomorrow!
Have a great day!
Those look so fantastic. Now I want to make a small one!!!
I didn't know that you live in the Chicago area. I would love to attend the Sycamore event, but have previous plans, so I hope there will be a lot of pictures. We are in Yorkville, not too far from there, so it would have been doable. Are you planning any other events nearby that I might be able to attend? This quilt block is a favorite of mine and will hopefully be able to start on one when I finish all the 'new baby' projects that I am now working on.
Hope you have a wonderful show and that the weather cooperates.
Did you reduce the length as well as the width of the strips?
