8 blocks............

I got the last 3 blocks pressed and put them up on the design wall.  I think the last block is going to be black like it was on the big quilt.  This one is going to be a petite 42" x 36" if I don't add any borders.   I think I might still put on a strip top and bottom so the color won't touch the edge.

I was wondering which color would be the last... one... I was looking at it and thinking lime greens... and put the purple in the center.. then you would have 2 blues, 2 reds (red/pink) 2 orange (yellow/orange) and the greens...opposite. And I like the added strip idea too.

Beautiful job and composition.

1.5" strips . . . this one is SO much more inviting than the bigger version! (did you have a post where you "laid this out" or did you leave it up to us to do the math? I have the book.)

LOVE these!!!

I like both the large version and this smaller one - I would need to get a lot of background for this - I do not have white with black in it for some reason - that is neglected in my stash

It appears to me you only use each fabric once, not repeated in the block. Is this correct? That's a LOT of fabric--I think I could do that too.

Beautiful! I can't help but think of these as Japanese lanterns--maybe because my current WIP progress is an expanse of lanterns. So interesting to see the various interpretations.

I have been 'out of the loop' for a few days... so it was fun catching up with your blogs. Your daily progress always makes me feel like such a slacker ! So I do my quilting through you, and that feels good. (*._,*)
