Planning ahead..........

This is the top left corner plus center strip on some new X and + blocks.  I did a lot of cutting yesterday, mostly from my dotted scraps left over from the quilt I called 168 Dots.  I also pulled out more to cut today.
I got the cute print of goldfish in a plastic bag of water in a trade with another blogger who needed a fabric that I had.  There are names of each goldfish but they got cut off  because of the width of my strip.  I will add some Kaffe prints in this quilt too.
I went through the box of triangles that I have been cutting out of scraps this past year and pulled groups of 8 triangles that I think might work on this quilt.
There is icy rain/snow predicted for today and a high of 26 degrees for Wednesday, the first day of spring.  This is the complete opposite from March a year ago when we had 60-80 degree temperatures for most of the month.  The prediction for the rest of the month is colder than normal.  It sounds like quilting weather to me.

Those blocks are going to be great, just like
everything you do......you are an inspiration to me.
I've started to buy myself a few batiks here and
there , something I usually don't quilt with. Thanks
for sharing your quilting life with us, love reading
the blog and seeing all that you accomplish.

Quilting weather at my house too, in fact a no school day! I've lost track of how many we've had... your project looks like so much fun.

I've always loved that goldfish fabric!!! Those blocks are going to look great.

This should be the last winter blast for you guys. It was nice to get the cooler winter this year. I hope it is a better summer for the farmers.

What a difference those fabrics make for your X & + blocks. So full of splashy fun and dashes of dots. Love it already !

p.s. Wind and cold here also with a handful of snow flakes whirling around off and on but none sticking on the ground.

I started laughing out loud today when I saw these blocks...and that's a GOOD thing because it was laughter of pure joy. This is off to a wonderful start. You can't go wrong with dots IMHO and those fish??? Love 'em!!

we are at Sandbridge Virginia Beach on the oceanside. It is cold and the ocean is very rough and full of big waves, but 13 of us are quilting in a big beach house all week - lots of fun, sewing, laughs and wine. Great to be a quilter.

I love dots. They seem to cheer me up a bit. Our weather will probably go from 30s to 80s in one day. I just want some nice weather to open the windows for a bit and get some fresh air in the house. It sure is cold outside especially with the wind. Yes, time to keep on quilting.
