Final layout and 2 finishes......

This IS the final layout.  My 2 friends came over to sew yesterday and we moved a few blocks and I thought it was done. Then last night I decided to look through the camera lens one more time and spotted 4 dark + in a row and I decided to move a couple blocks.  After 2 tries I decided it is done.  I needed to get the blocks off the wall so I could hang my 2 finishes up for their portraits.  I will sew the top together today.
I sewed on bindings while my friends were here.  I finished both of them by machine.  This Buzz Saw flannel quilt ended up 58" x 72".
The flannel 8 point star came out 60" x 77" after quilting.  I used the same fabric as the sashing and backing for the binding.  I think these are my only 2 finishes for March.  I hope to get one more finished for my goal of 3 per month.

Isn't it amazing how you can spot something that needs to be fixed in a photo faster than looking at it straight on? The quilt looks great!

The whole quilt works. The colors are working all together, the eye moves. Glad you took the time to keep moving it around- you nailed it.

Stunning! You've done it again. Moved a few blocks around and it's perfect. I would have moved the wrong blocks. Great flannel finishes too!

you didn't ask for comments on the layout- but I will offer one anyway.
It seems like the 2 stripped blocks create a diagonal line which leads the eye along that line. Perhaps that is not what happens when you see it in person.

Love the block. A challenge,

X &+ ... is awesome Wanda ~ final layout shows off quilt perfectly. You can be proud of yet another creation that shouts "Exuberant Color".

Love the precision of Buzz Saw and Stars, two wonderful cozy quilts.

This is so very pretty! It always amazes me how much easier it is to spot issues by looking at a photograph than it is looking at it on a design wall. Sounds like your had a great day.

very nice, looks like you nailed the layout, lots of movement, and no places where your eye settles. Love it!

xPlus layout looks great. It's hard to stop arranging with this style of block because there are so many options. I've just chosen it for my month as queen bee so they will be arriving soon and on my design wall to play with.

Love the final layout! I'm trying to get better with machine stitched bindings. I always do them on table runners and small quilts but don't have the patients to do a larger quilt.

Love the star quilt even more, the background just glows. So rich and inviting. Buzz saw is so fun. The X&+ is stunning. You always achieve that color balance perfectly.

The X+ blocks look absolutely fabulous! Made me smile the second I saw the photo.
Love your two flannel quilts - they will be so cozy to curl up under!

The two flannel quilts are just so pretty and snuggly looking. How perfect for your cold weather! And the +X blocks are perfection. I certainly did not notice the diagonal, but after it was pointed out, it still was not a distraction to me. Of course you know better than anyone, but to me is just looks absolutely perfect!

Your two finished projects are beautiful. You will just have to sew the other one together because you will never find its balance
