I had a hard time sticking with anything yesterday. It was a rainy gloomy day and I couldn't get motivated. I did sew the rest of the duplicate 16 patch blocks and put them up on the design wall. Every time I make a diagonal layout quilt I say I'm not going to do another one, but right on the heels of the Diagonal Madness quilt I have this one up as a diagonal layout again. I need to make 9 more blocks to make it into a rectangular quilt. I thought about leaving it square and using it as a tablecloth in my red kitchen. The only problem with that is that I already have 2 tablecloths and don't need a third one.

Lots of color there. Some days the sewing just doesn't work. It is pouring rain here right now so you will get it soon. Chris
I know what you mean about diagonal layouts... but they are so striking!
Love this quilt top already... so much so that I'm planning on making a 16-patch top myself!
I haven't attempted a diagonal layout - yet - but I love the look of them.
I really like the diagonal layout, but I know it is more work.
Table cloth or quilt ... this one has wonderful color!!
You could make a throw? LOve the colors!
I really like this as a diagonal! Hope you make it into a full-sized quilt. It's so much fun to watch your projects grow!
so bright! very nice color layout. It was a gloomy day with a lot of rain yesterday here and now today is windy and cold, a lot of leaves will come off of the trees today.

Some days are like that - a person just can't stay focused. Could be the weather, or maybe a bit of restlessness following your trip down memory lane. I find that it can do that to me. The 16 patch blocks look great and I think they're more interesting on the diagonal. Hope you have a good day today.
Aw sure....one more tablecloth!!! It is gorgeous and I do love the diagonal settings.
But you make it look so easy. (*._,*) Diagonal layout that is. It absolutely gorgeous. I would consider another table cloth also. Just changing a table cloth will give your kitchen a different 'personality' with each change.

I always love your quilts. I think I would love to have your color eye for just one day.
Love the colors in this. Reminds me of Raspberry Dream Pie!
OK, so you have more than 3 quilts, so why not have 3 tablecloths ;-) I love the diagonal sets, I think there is more interest.
I have never done one like that. I love it. You are so good with your fabric combinations. I guess after 6,000 quilts you just get it!
But, oh, it's SO pretty. It's hard to settle to anything some days. I have so much I need to get done, and I seem to keep starting new things. Of course you wouldn't know anything about that....
Next time you are inspired to do a quilt with blocks on point do check out Anita Hallock's Fast Patch. She turns a chequerboard on point to get to Flying Geese....

And you can use the same technique to turn a whole top on point. I have done quite a few. The hardest part used to be cutting across without a long ruler, until I liberated a couple of narrow x 1.5m lengths of perspex from the skip outside the Secondary College craft room...
And her method is a really good way to make triangle things - Stars, FG, etc etc.
