QOV sew in day

I finished this top yesterday.  Now I have my 3 sample quilt tops for the scrap class.

I packed my bag yesterday afternoon for today's QOV sew-in.  I need to make a master list of things to take with me so I don't have to think it out each time.

Oh, my, what a crooked picture.  When I got ready to post I had already turned off my desktop computer which has a photo editing program where I could have corrected that.  Here are all three samples made with the same block.  I used different width strips in all of them.  Starting from the left they are 3", 2.5", and 3.5".  I want to show these to the QOV group to see if they want to try this pattern some time.

Interesting and versatile block. I think simple with a twist is the right terms for it. I really like it. Chris

Wanda, I am liking your scrap quilts. I especially like the zig zags. I so wish I was closer and could take a class.

Something is goofy with Blogger this morning. I recieved a few comments earlier that haven't shown up here yet. I'm just testing this with a comment of my own.

What a great mini quilt show! I love all three samples. I just may have to make another zigzag quilt using your 1st sample idea. Vertical - I guess it could be train tracks for my young engineer. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!

I love the Kaffe version of this. It is so cheerful and bright, makes me think of a summer garden in a way.

It is wonderful to see these patterns in such pretty colorful fabric. I use the same designs for my church ladies comfort quilts and we have lots of quilters cast offs from the 80's. I am sure the QOV ladies will be happy to use these patterns.
