More little bits

I sat down a couple times yesterday and sewed some more little bits.  These are waiting to be trimmed.  You can see how small they are by the grid on the mat.

This is all that goes into the trash after trimming.

This picture is to compare the size of the little bits blocks with the triangles that I am almost done sewing into squares.

I think I will be able to sit longer today and get the last row of triangles sewn.

Thanks for the picture that shows how small your little blocks really are. Happy Sewing today! Hope your hip allows you to put those last triangles together.

I love the little bits blocks. Most people don't realize how surprisingly useful they can be.

Oh, come on...can't you think of something to do with those little bits your throwing in the trash?? Just kidding....all in fun! :)

I'm saving all sorts of bits as I stitch and trim now ... that way there will be bits and pieces to stitch when I need some mindless sewing time. Then I'll have some at the ready when inspiration (or need) arrives.

Great idea to show the contrast in size on your design wall!

My hip hurts, too - hope we both feel better SOON!

I love how improv blocks from scraps look after they are all squared up, neat and clean. I need to make a bunch of those from all these scraps I seem to hoard. Thanks for keeping up with with your blog, I read it with my morning coffee each day. Amie in Tn.

I do love small blocks, even though I rarely get th opportunity to work with them. But they are just so effective, don't you think?

I love using up as much as I can, too! It just does my heart good NOT to waste. Beautiful blocks.

Wow, those ARE wee little bits! So cute!

How's your hip? Feeling any better today? If it flares, try an ice pack for 20 minutes--helps my back more than any pain meds.

Why do we made such small blocks?? Because they are cute!!

Hope your hip feels much better today and you get your last triangles done.

You and Kathy Loomis have inspired me to make little bitty blocks too.
I send wishes for your hip problem to go away so you can sew as much as you like.

I thought I was thrifty, but anything which is less that 1.5inches ends up in my waste bin!

Those little blocks remind me of flags on a sailing ship... so colorful.

You've given me an idea for a quilt border -- those teeny tiny blocks are just plain fun.
Hope you can sew as much as you would like to and that the pain has abated for a while.

The last time I worked on little bitty blocks it made me feel like my regular sized blocks were gigantic!
I could zip through them with twice the speed.

Hope the hip is feeling better. Warm weather is heading our way next week!

It sounds so labor intensive because of the size, but the process is mindless and meditative at the same time. I like to do that sort of thing when I'm down or tired as you were and just want to 'do' something without thinking or planning. And it's funny they're often my favorite in the end.

Hi Wanda
Hope you are feeling a little better by now.

Love those teensy tiny blocks. I see another Cobblestones quilt coming.

Take care.

I have never seen blocks so small! They are awesome and what an awesome thing to undertake. Such patience. Nurse your sore hip joint and enjoy those "down days" because other things get done on those type of days.
