I was so exhausted last night I couldn't do anything but look at my new book and watch CSI Miami.
The art quilters came and we had such a good time.
I went up to visit Dad in the evening and he is so much better already on the oxygen and whatever else they are doing for him. He still has the cough but not as often. I want to thank everyone for your prayers and well wishes.
I sold this colorwash background to one of my art quilter friends a few months ago. She brought it yesterday with her applique started on it. I love the fabric she used for the sunflowers. She just has it pinned on there right now so we'll probably see a lot of changes to it next month.

So glad your Dad is doing better!! I, too, am looking forward to receiving the book! What a beautiful quilt.
What a great use for that background! A real win-win situation: one person has the stash and the eye (and desire) to piece all those little squares and another person with the stash and the eye (and the desire) to do the applique. Will she be doing hand needle turn or machine stitching to apply the flowers? Sarah
Wow! that colorwash background is exquisite.
What an exquisite quilt, and the book looks yummy too!

Wanda the colorwash quilt is stunning! Did you design it or was there a pattern name that you can share with us?
The colorwash is amazing. I love what she is doing with it.
Just read about your dad. So glad he is doing better.
This is quite a brilliant expression of color. The flowers are really in detail, but the background has so much depth in the highlights. It is a wonder marriage of the two ideas. Chris
Wanda, so glad you Dad is doing better. I will keep him in my prayers.
Love the sunflowers. The colors she choose for the petals, just work so wonderfully with the colorwash background.
I'm glad your dad is better. The book looks neat, can't wait to see what you make out of it. Hannah
Glad to hear that your Dad is feeling better. The applique your friend is doing looks amazing! And I love the colour wash you created.
I almost bought that book this weekend! Liked a few of the quilts in it, it's still on the Wish List.
Glad Dad's improving.
So how IS the book? Are you happy you purchased it?
Great news about your dad's improvement ... continued prayers and hugs winging their way to ya'll.
Exquisite use of the colorwash background - those flowers are wonderful!!!
Glad your dad is better. It's not easy to see those we love in distress.
That sunflower quilt is shaping up to be spectacular. Are those actual squares of fabric sewn together and colorwashed? It's beautiful!
So good to hear your Dad is doing better. You have my prayers that he continues to grow stronger.
I can see this art quilter is as talented as you are. Her sunflower took my breath away. Your color wash is an outstanding background for her creation she is working on. Absolutely LOVE IT !
