Strip piecing update.............

On February 5th I showed this photo of some strip piecing pieces and parts that I made back in 2015 and 2016.  I promised I would show the rest of my strip pieced parts that are larger and were stored in a different place.  All of these smaller pieces have been trimmed into straight strips.

These larger pieces are not trimmed yet.  Four of them are about 21" long and one is longer than those.  All of these are batik the same as the smaller pieces in the photo above.  I thought about using some of these for zipper pouches or notebook covers.  They could also be trimmed into strips the same width as some of those in the other photo.  They are all made with the first trimming strip when I straighten the fabric so most are crooked and not the same width on both ends.  No inspiration has struck yet so they will wait.

It is a goldmine of possibilities. I think they could all play together.

Your strips ~ I wish I had a great idea to pass onto you, but I don't. I enjoy enlarging the photos and studying all your fun fabrics. It's a nice Sunday post to sit and day dream about what you will eventually design.

Your design wall reminds me of Anna Williams' work. What a treat to have all these bits lying around. You will have fun with this.

Wow there is a lot of work involved in doing these strips. I'm confident you will find an energetic pattern for them.

Love the top picture of strips on the wall - wasn't that called the Colorist School when painters did it?

Love all the colors. I am not ready to sew, can hardly find the sewing machine space. Packing to move and don't want to leave any fabric behind and then I bought more! Chocolate of course. One day I will be able to sew daily, but will be awhile! Thanks for posting enjoying your sharing.
I have a blog also. More about our area near Yos. in Cal. living on 8.5 acres, but now time to move after 22 years. And get back to something more controlled. Our place is better for the younger folk with families and loves the land. Keep on sharing Thanks. Vivian Helena
