It's done!!..........

I ended up using the first fabric that I considered for the binding.  At first I thought it was too dark and kept looking for something just a little lighter.  I either didn't have enough or the color just wasn't right on all of the others so I was back to the dark brown with black lines forming little squares.  I used a medium brown Superior SoFine thread to quilt it.

The back is made of 3 of the largest pieces of flannel I had left.  I have lots of half yards but not much in big pieces any more.  The quilt ended up at 64.5" x 80".  I used Warm and Natural batting because it has scrim in it and stabilizes and gives body to the pieced flannel top.

Such a great quilt and I really love the dark binding.

The dark binding makes it look like artwork in a frame. You made humble flannel into an art piece.

I really like the dark binding. I think it brings out the dark colors in the quilt. I love pieced backings. As someone else said you made an art quilt out of humble flannel.......very nice! I love the pops of orange in the quilt.

Another great finish. I don't expect to ever do a whole lot of work using flannel. It's a little to toasty here in Central Texas.

Looks so cozy. Lovely.

It looks nice and although it probably doesn't sound great during the summer, it will be a great quilt to crawl under when days are cooler.

Love this quilt. The backing enhances the old timey feel of the front. It is beautiful!

Again I am behind and catching up with your posts for over a week. Wanda you have out done yourself with your gardening this season. And it shows with all your glorious blooms.

As always the work you put into your quilts is true work of needleart on each one. Enjoyed reading about your quilt that was published in
The MAQS Book. And how it came about.

Oh it looks just perfect to me. Very warm and snuggly! Even though in the summer heat, it's a bit hard to imagine anybody would ever need anything like that - unless they just turn the a/c down too cold!

Congratulations on another finish! It turned out great! I went and bought some more flannel a couple of months ago when someone - I don't remember who - had some on sale for a great price. I needed a bit more so I could use up what I had. I am not sure that makes sense! LOL!!!
