Sorting scraps...........

I had a large pile of scraps by my Studio die cutter after cutting all of the hexagons and triangles.  Yesterday I sorted them into scraps large enough to cut a 2" square, then scraps to cut 1.5" squares, then scraps too small to cut squares, scraps shaped like an equilateral triangle, and larger scraps.  The squares that I cut are in the photo.
I store the 1.5" squares in the bottom tier of a stacking storage bin.  They are sorted by Kaffe, batik and regular quilting cottons.




The 2" squares go in the middle tier.  They are sorted the same as the smaller squares.  When the bins are full I will make something out of them.

All those 1.5" squares would make a very colorful Triple Irish Chain. You are very neat with your fabric squares, so am I, I just don't have any Kaffe yet.

I couldn't imagine sewing 1.5" squares though I have sewn 1.5" sashing. 1.5" squares are not on my 'to do' list, but I'll enjoy seeing what you make out of them :)

What a great storage idea. I have a box similar to that one, but I don't have the compartment piece in mine. Will have to look for that one next time.

I love to cut scrap pieces. The farthest down I go is 2". Sorting is the hard part for me. I cut 2, 2 1/2, 3 1/2, 5, 6, 10" from my own or scraps given to me.

I like your storage bin. I have lots of the 1 1/2 inch squares, too, but mine are just in a baggie. ;) I'm trying to work up the energy to make a big scrappy quilt of some sort with all the littles.

I love your compartmented stacker tray - I'm just working through my scraps and must have a look out for something similar in our stores.
