Yesterday morning while I was in the basement cutting more blocks I decided to see if a filler fabric could be used in my layout. I had this one fabric in mind, my favorite of Philip Jacobs newer fabrics. There are 4 pieces of it in here. I think it will work in smaller areas, just not sure about a big piece of it.
I got 9 small and medium size blocks made. Some of these are scrappy and I'm not sure if they will all be in the quilt. I was too tired to go back to the basement when I finished sewing them (11 p.m.) so I'll work on the layout today. I have been working on this project one week and have 32 blocks made. I have to admit I'm getting a little tired of it. I have the next 2 quilt ideas dancing in my head.
I don't have a die for the size triangles needed for the medium size blocks but I had some Thangles the right size. I'm into season 4 of Doc Martin while I sew these blocks.

Totally gorgeous on a number of levels...
Luscious eye candy this morning.
I have just started the second season of Doc Martin - thanks for suggesting it - he sure is a weird doctor! I'm having fun watching it.If Mike happens to be in the room he will sit down and watch it to and I really didn't think he would watch it but he is getting a kick out of it
I love the filler fabric...even the large piece.
Love your quilt and Doc Martin!
I have to tell you that I am totally obsessing over your quilt---it is just so stunning---and since it is for moi ;) please don't put the filler fabric in---only bearpaws in those luscious luscious colors, please. :D
I'm a huge Doc Martin fan and have watched each show multiple times. We are also lovers of Cornwall so just the scenery is worth watching the show. Love your quilts1

You are the master of value Wanda. Love how this is going together. And I know how your feel. Once your get the majority of the quilt behind you, you want to move on to the next project.
Love all of your quilts! So much fun to see what you make on your blog. You are so inspiring. Thanks!
I love your bear tracks! And Doc Martin is a favorite for watching whilst piecing.
I like the filler fabric too. I still rely on my old copy of Triangulations for half square triangles since I don't own a die cutter. It works great as long as I have the correct printer settings. This quilt is going to be beautiful.
You're moving right along, Wanda.
Thangles - - - good ol' stand by.
Hugs
THe filler fabric seems to distract from the bear paws, to me.
HMmmm ~ From this side of the screen... I too am not sure about the filler fabric either. But I know all too well whatever you select will be the perfect one.
Makes me feel good to hear as you are finishing this project, thoughts of several more are spinning in your head. That is what creativity is all about.

I love your honesty, Wanda! I often get tired and itchy at a certain stage of a creation, and can relate to your having "the next 2 quilt ideas dancing in my head"! That's what keeps it interesting!
I love Doc Martin.....even though you just want to smack him sometimes......
I just love Doc Martin.....finally made it through to the end....
