Only one block..........

When I sewed one seam wrong last night I decided I should stop after one block.

In this picture you can see the birds.  In the block above they are pretty chopped up.

The weather was beautiful for the graveside service yesterday, not too hot and a nice breeze.  We went to a restaurant afterward that is located in my friend's grandpa's old house.  It is so nice to see that it didn't get torn down.  On the way home I drove through the old neighborhood where we lived as children.  I was really wiped out last night; emotional overload.

I understand emotional overload - sometimes it is best to set the sewing aside to the next day. I'm sure your friend appreciated you being there.

You had a very tiring day.

I am sure you will get back into your stitching today.

I think it is understandable why only one block was sewn. Surely you just needed a rest.

Hi Wanda,
Hope today is better for you and your energy bounces back.

I'm loving these nice summery days in the low 80's. That's set to change, though -- back to HOT.

Take care.

I hope the happy memories can fill today.

I wouldn't call them "chopped". Birds like to hide, they are only partially visible.
Lovely fabric!

You had a lot to deal with. I hope you can take some time for yourself--just for you. Enjoy the beauty of something, breathe and just be. Hope you feel restored soon!

That is a beautiful block! Emotional overload is perfectly understandable after a day like that. Hope today is much better!

I agree with Eva... those birds look like my California Quail and they do like to hide. Beautiful print too.

I understand about emotional over load... it comes in waves it seems doesn't it. Can't help but think of your friend that has cancer and now to loose a son. Life sure hurts doesn't it ?
