A few Winding Ways, a few triangles

The Winding Ways blocks are getting easier but they are still a little crooked on the edges.  As long as they all come out the same size, they will work together.

I did sew the other 2 triangle blocks too.  I have several other pairs of fabrics ready to cut for this quilt so I won't put the blocks back up on the wall until I get more sewn.

I have a funeral to go to today.  My best friend from 5th grade through high school called me a week ago to say her son was found dead in his apartment.  He lived a few states away to complicate matters.  She had called me the end of May to tell me she has cancer but is doing well on the chemo.  We were both at the classmates birthday party last month so we have some good times memories to mix with this heartbreaking event.

Love how the Winding Ways blocks look! And all your triangles too. These are sure to be beautiful quilts. So sorry to hear about this very sad news. It is nice that you will be there for your friend. My prayers and thoughts are with her.

Your Winding Ways look great in the two colours.
It is good to have friends in such sad times.

I wondered what colors you were going to use for the winding ways I had only seen the blue before. Pretty choice. Sorry about your friends son - so sad to loose a child, you are never ready for that to happen.

How sad for your friend.

That is so tragic. It is always sad when a parent looses a child, but it sounds like she has her own challenges now too. I know you will be a tremendous support for her.

Your winding ways are looking fabulous.

Both of those patterns are working up so pretty! You're moving right along. And I am sorry for your friend's loss. I remember when my dad died (cancer), my grandmother being so hurt that he had died while she was still alive. So sad.

So sad to learn of a child's death of a close friend. My thoughts are with you both.

Nice post today... kind of like those two new creations are at the 'starting gate' ready to take off.

So sorry about your friend's son. Very sad.
I've been thinking of doing a winding ways quilt myself. Would your friend be willing to cut more fabric (for a price, of course)?

Your Winding Ways blocks are looking good. But then, all your blocks always look good!
