A little sewing.........
The left side panel has been sewn together. The top of the center panel is sewn. I moved the right side panel up to the same height as the 2 on the left but I decided not to move the rest of the center panel because I'll probably get it sewn today. I should have used a flash for this photo because the beauty definitely doesn't show without adequate light.
In the book there is a narrow border and then a border of 6.5" squares. As it is now it's going to finish at 54" x 87". I made this one as practice before I start the yellow one like the one in the book. I learned a lot on this one.
Here is a new batik that I purchased at the quilt shop where we have our QOV sew-in. I needed one more yard to fill my punch card so I went searching and found this one. I don't know how I missed it the first time around.

The quilt is coming along beautifully!! But I am definitely looking forward to seeing your version of the yellow one! That batik is just wonderful. I can't believe you missed that one on the first time around either.
I love the new batik! the "texture" on it really adds dimension.
Have you seen the fall edition of Studios magazine? There is an article on Kaffe Fasset and his studio. It also shows some of his living area.
Yours is a gazzillion times better than the one in the book!
Pretty pretty!--looking very nice! The large prints really add a lot of depth. You may just inspire me to get back on my floor and work on finishing up the borders on mine!
Wanda, you are slipping if you missed that piece of fabric. I just don't see how it could of happened.HAHA.Wig.
I love how this quilt is coming along. Don't understand how you missed that fabric. LOL Glad you were able to purchase it and get your card punched.
This batik is beautiful. I've started to look at them more and more now. They really can make a quilt pop!
Beautiful!
I'm looking forward to seeing this one done -- and can't wait to see your yellow version. That's a gorgeous batik.
I love your batik Wanda- very pretty - the texture and rainbow colors will make it a very useful piece in your quilt.
Happy quilting.
Regards,
Anna
