I had to see how the spiral looked with the blocks on point so I took the extra set of blocks that I finished making yesterday and put it on the design wall. It would be a square quilt, almost too big for a wallhanging and too small for a bed. I'm not sure if I'll sew it or just take the blocks and play with other designs.

You have been busy. They all look so great. I finished on yesterday also. Chris
It looks good both ways but I like the straight setting best. It seems to have a lot more eye appeal.
Both looks are fabulous. Sounds like this one would make a great quilt for snuggling under while watching the TV.
Interesting to see the two versions of the log cabin. I'm with Gene on this one, I like the straight setting better. When I look at the on point one it almost seems like the dark section is too dominant while in the straight design it is more balanced.
I love both of those spirals!
Lucky recipient of your quilt.
I definately prefer on point.
I like both but, straight one gets my vote.Wig.
you have a very hard choice to make...
good luck!they both look great!
Hard to believe that those quilts are too small for a bed they both look so big in first photo. As for finishing the edges I know you will decided what you like best and it will be great. Both spirals are beautiful !
Bottom quilt is mesmerizing to say the least. The recipient will love it.

Oh that spiral!! Beautiful!
And the quilt that is going to a a new home is an absolute beauty!
Oh wow. They are both great! I'm jealous that you have the room for TWO design boards! And the quilt you just finished and gifted is terrific. Thanks for sharing
Decisions, decisions. I don't know if I could make up my mind - the spiral looks good every way you turn it. And the other one - oh, my goodness, it is gorgeous!
They both look great ! ! But I love the first pic of the quilts. Very unique design.
I think I like the straight setting better. Just play some more with the blocks. I'd love to see what you come up with. The quilt going to its new home is beautiful.
I just know that the quilt that looks like a jewel box was sent to me.....wasn't it? No? Oh, my, I really had my hopes up. Beautiful.
And I am in the minority, I really like the on point version of your log cabin. Of course you could just put all the blocks together and make a really big bed quilt.
It is so inspiring!! xx They look absolutely amazing!
The on-point version really has a sense of transparency - someone else said "mesmerizing" - so that gets my vote. Both are lovely!
Lucky recipient -- that is a gorgeous quilt!
I like both your log cabin settings, but prefer the straight set ... I think.
I like the on point setting the best,I am sure whatever ya choose will look great!!
love the spiral!

Oh my - a lot of previous opinions - but the blocks on point sure look extra deliciousos!
I rather prefer the on point setting, the spiral effect seems more natural there. The square straight setting is just more expected. Lovely blog, thanks for sharing your love of color and wonderful inspiring visions. - Mary, The Curious Quilter
