March recap............

I finished two baby quilts in March, one a recent quilt top and the other from 7 years ago.  Now I have a decent size pile of baby quilts for gifting.
I completed three quilt tops.  The one in the center and the one on the right were made from blocks started many years ago.  The colorwash was started last year and had to be removed from the design wall 2 times when I had company coming.  I have 3 more new quilt tops in progress so hopefully they will make it into next month's recap.
Here is a closeup view of the binding fabric on the log cabin baby quilt.  Originally I was going to do a scrappy binding but when I decided I was going to do it all by machine I wanted to be able to match thread to the fabric.  I chose a batik that wasn't a favorite but it is perfect for a binding.

That batik binding has me itching to experiment! I think of bindings as solid frames, and this one serves as an extension....it makes me want to get into my batik pieces for possible finishes...AND that machine finish is tempting, too. great job!!!!

Seems like a good month's work! Love the batik binding. I bound 4 quilts this month as I like to do them in bunches. All the colors you have shown are inspiring!

Wonderful finishes.....that batik log cabin is quite special with that different setting. As much as I love the colorwash, it is the center light quilt that grabs me eye this time. The slight variation in tones surrounding the squares add depth and interest. Great month, with big finishes!

I treated myself this morning, catching up once again with your blog. I always enjoy the photo's and reading about each.
March was a good production month... but every month is a good one for you.
Perfect batik binding, it really frames your log cabin quilt perfectly.
Hexagon and stars, such fun to find the stars... hidden like a Bev Doolittle painting.
Kaffe Fasset tin... now there is another reason to visit Ultra.

What a great idea to use zig zag for the binding!! That would take care of my obsession with making sure my straight line stitching lines up perfectly on both the top and the bottom. Freedom!

Great month for you! I've always thought it would be such a good idea to have a stash of baby quilts. But it doesn't seem like anything I'll ever manage to have! Good for you!
