Tote bag results............

We had a lot of fun yesterday working on tote bags.  I decided to make the same one I made as a store sample in 2008.  This time I didn't make a crazy pieced block for the back.  I still have to finish the lining and sew it in and make a bottom firm piece that will keep the bottom from sagging.

Here is the back.  I'm planning on keeping this one.  I usually sell or give away all of the tote bags I make.  This one just feels like ME.

Love the colours and pattern in your bag - I need something as a stiffener - I suffer with a saggy bottom as well - excuse the pun :)

What a neat bag! ...and I agree, it certainly is you.

For bottom stiffener I use a piece of heavy plastic canvas, sandwiched between 2 pieces of craft foam. I use spray glue to hold them together. Then a make a fabric sleeve. I like thus because it is washable.

It looks like a "you" bag! You have the best scraps! I can see more of these in your future.

Good morning Wanda.....WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TOTE BAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The colors are soooo you and I love them. I am insanely jealous of what you call scraps. lol Seriously, you do have the most creative juices flowing through your veins and and you are an inspiration to so many of us. Enjoy your day.

Love the tote- not only the blocks but the red fabric (my favorite). I use soft and stable in my bags now and have no more sags. I have also used plastic needlepoint sheet cut for the bottom to be stiff. Great bag!

:-) It is good to keep a piece for ourselves to enjoy sometimes. And that bag is decidedly "You"

I'm glad you are keeping that one. That is a nice one to "tote" around.

Beautiful tote! The only way I'd ever get around to make a tote bag, would be if I made it in a group with others. I just can't make myself make anything eh isn't a quilt all by myself! I have a weird mental block that keeps me from ever getting things like that finished, even if I start them!

Corrugated plastic campaign signs make great tote bag bottoms. After elections there are plenty of them.
