Experimenting with layout...........
I made the nine 10" blocks yesterday and tried out the 2 size blocks together. If I sewed it right now it would be 42" x 54". One more row of 6" blocks all around would make it 54" x 66". I think the large blocks are hardly noticeable right now and maybe would show up better with another round of blocks.

Love the colors. It is amazing how the large blocks seem to disappear.
I'm thinking a narrow inner border separating the two block sizes would be an interesting addition???
I had to look closely to see that there are two sizes of blocks in it.
It's looking good, very different.
Love this, love the bright happy colors. Fascinating how you have told us there are 2 sizes but the brain keep wanting to fit them together as one size and solve the puzzle.
I like the change in size. It adds a subtle interest.
I agree.....it is hard to see that there are 2 sizes of blocks here. This really fools the eye.
what if you alternated 4 patches of the small blocks (twisted as they are in your current layout) with larger blocks? I know that would mean trimming down the smaller blocks, but it might be interesting.

The 2 different sized blocks really give this quilt movement.....at least it does for me? I love the freedom of those strip pieced blocks. THis is very much like the quilt you have as your 2nd favorite on the side of your blog! I love it!
When I first looked at the photo I had to search for the larger blocks, but when I scrolled back up after reading comments they jumped out as though they were three dimensional! I agree another round of blocks would be a good addition. I'm looking forward to the finished quilt.
Oooh, I like where this is headed!
Does it matter whether the larger blocks show up? Right now they do look a bit like they are squeezed in there on the sides by the one row of smaller blocks, while it seems like there is more room on the top and bottom where you have two rows. I don't think I have expressed this well, but I can't think of a better way to put it into words.
