Another new project............

A friend and I both wanted to make some tote bags so she is coming over today.  We will be experimenting with ideas.  Last night I pieced these blocks with Kaffe scraps left from die cutting.  Click here to go to a post where I made a tote bag with one side made with this type square.  I'm not sure if that is what I'm doing this time so I pieced 12 squares so I can experiment.

Love those words, "Another new project". Always exciting following yours. Love the strip colors and blocks. Can't wait to see the experiments.

I used your idea from the past blogs to make my own bag - a large lunch bag. I found that the ones you purchase don't have enough room for a thermos for soup and a reusable plastic container for a sandwich or a salad. I lined it with Pula which I purchased at fabric.com. This material is waterproof without being stiff or plasticky. I believe it is what is used to line baby diaper liners. It is food quality. Love your inspirations

Good morning Wanda...I love looking at your colorful postings in the morning, and since it's the first post I open, it helps to snap my eyes wide open!! lol Hope you have a fun day creating and sewing with your friend, and will look forward to seeing the results tomorrow. I went to the orthopaedist yesterday for a shot in my shoulder and hope I get results in a couple of days. Enjoy your day.

My friend gave me a lovely tote bag that was super stiff but not uncomfortably so. I like your idea of denim, never thought of that. I have made many totes and put the pockets inside too. I have to say though that mine aren't as colorful as yours.
