Project started........

I cut the 1" blue and turquoise strips and sewed 25 blocks last night.  I won't go to the design wall until I have at least 100 sewn and probably more than that.  Today I will cut green 1" strips from my scraps to use in the blue blocks.

Yesterday it was hot and I only got the front yard mowed.  Today is supposed to be cooler so I'll finish it and start cutting more tall weeds along the side of my house.  I saw 2 Monarch caterpillars again yesterday.  They are roaming around to different milkweed plants each day.

Great start. This looks like the perfect project for relaxed sewing.

You should have heard me as soon as I clicked on the post "Oh nice!" in a voice that reflected admiration as well as a lightbulb moment!

I really like the way this is looking already! I may have to try this pattern as it looks like it goes together really fast and you get a lot of great color options.

So glad to hear the Monarchs are thriving. We rarely have them this far north (Saskatchewan) but two years ago we a lot of them. Not sure what they ate here because we don't have milkweeds.
Love the quilt, think I may try that with some of my stash.

Pretty blocks! I need to get some milk weed and plant it in the wooded area behind my house. It would be interesting to see the process.

I love this idea and these blocks. I took have a collection and it's fun seeing some of my fabrics in your blocks!

Simple but with a precise appeal. I just love the slender piece on every small block. They really compliment each of the fabrics. I will have to send you a photo of my kitchen counter top that is 30 years old now... At that time the cabinet maker couldn't promise how long the slender inlay that I wanted around the outside edge of the would last. But it has and I still love it as much as when it was new.

Oh I do like these blocks! Recognise one or two of the fabrics which are in my stash from quite some time ago, what a great way to use them.

I like these too ... I'm saving the idea for the next time I kit up projects when I'm in GA.

I like this very much. I've been setting aside purple and green fabrics for a while, and may try to use this pattern. But it's not something on the top of my list to do so by the time I get around to it, chances are my head will be somewhere else entirely!
