89 blocks..........

This is the set up on my table as I'm sewing these blocks.

I did some with mostly blue with blue strips.

Then I did a batch of green with green strips.

This batch is mixed, green with green and green with blue.

I have 89 blocks finished and need to cut some more 1" strips today.

Also the last 2 days I have been working on basting.  I finished the first one and have un-taped it.  I just need to press the backing for the second one and then I'll baste it.

I was happy to read in the comments yesterday that so many of you are counters too.  I cut 117 Goldenrod and weeds last night.  That is 217 total, 90% of it Goldenrod.  Can you imagine how many seeds would have spread if I had let it bloom?  I didn't dig the roots out though so it will be back next year.

Your use of tapes in basting: how, why? So many of your techniques are designed to improve both efficiency and quality of work, so I am sure that many other readers would enjoy a short "lesson" the next time you baste a quilt top. (tomorrow? tee hee)

Love this new "evening project"

Simple and elegant - but SO about the colors!

Wanda, the new quilt is going to be gorgeous, even if they are not batiks. You are a magician with the color placement and am a little bit envious of you. I notice that you work with the 'old' banquet tables, as do I. We are fortunate to have 4 of them, 2 of which have been made higher by putting PVC pipe on the legs. This is a huge help, since I have major back issues and the added height makes it so much easier to work on. Since they took the rain out of our forecast today, guess we will have to water all the plants, especially the veggies. Hope your weekend is a good one.

Wanda the first photo with how you lay out your blocks is great. I was thinking about your quilt and have decided that will be my next project also in blue and green. It is funny I have a few of the same fabrics you do.

When I am doing yard work I count time. I say I will do this chore till the clock says a certain time.

Those blocks are really wonderful. I love the colors.

I had to go back and read about the counting. I found it funny because I do the same thing. I wonder what makes us do that.

Those little blocks are like potato chips aren't they? I think blue and green are going to look great in this quilt.

What a great Saturday post Wanda ! The blue squares just GLOW, and the green is a lush meadow. Anxious to see the finish of the 'pin wheel' The centers would be so hard for me. So I enjoy watching you stitch them perfectly has been pure joy.

I love the cool look of the blue and green. I"ll see if I have enough fabric to do that - easy and beautiful!

I'd forgotten that you hand-baste and I went back to your 2008 post for your basic technique . I've just begun hand-basting and love it!
