On the mug rug on the top left I used my embroidery machine with a built in design sewn once and then mirror imaged to fill the central space. Then I came back and did some straight stitching in the background. This is too much work for the price that would be on a mug rug so I won't do many like this. Maybe I can find a design that will fill the whole mug rug. I used 2 built in stitches on my machine alternated on the green one. I'm sure there is someone who will like a subtle design.
I have another rainbow one pieced and ready for binding. I have another small box to mail today. I forgot to put the dowel rods for the 2 smallest quilts in the last package and I'm afraid they will take them away from me at the airport if I put them in my suitcase. I will add a few mug rugs to the box.
Here is the latest advertisement that went out as an email blast for my show and classes.

Love the embroidery pattern. So pretty. You are going to reach your goal, I know it! When do you leave?
Love the e-mail "flier" for your show. You must be so excited (and probably really pooped, too. Such a lot of work getting ready! I'm excited for you!
I'm sure they will remove those dowels at the airport. My cousin just had a small rolling pin that she was taking to her daughter's taken from her.
The embroidery design is very pretty, but I don't think it is necessary with all of the beautiful fabrics you use.
I like the embroidery design and the the special stitching on the mug rugs. Both are beautiful. The new piece. Can't wait to see your work in Charlotte :D
Enjoyed seeing all your mug rugs since last Friday. I always pick out my favorites each day. It is so exciting just visiting your blog, I can only imagine what it is like for you preparing for your big show.
They will want to keep you there forever. I suppose most people know where Chicago is, than Sandwich, IL. (*._,*)
Been to Seattle to see our ballet dancer last weekend and just returned.

It has been nice to see all the lovely mug rugs in your posts. I don't always pay attention to the quilting since it is hard to see on the CPU screen so am glad you posted these 3 with different finishes. Love the rainbow fabrics.
The subtlety of the embroidery design on the mug rug is fabulous. I would bet that one sells quickly. They're all gorgeous -- all such wonderful little works of art. The rainbow ones are so perfect for a great cheerful start to a day -- having that kind of wonderfulness underneath a mug couldn't help but make people smile!
Oh wow, the feather design on that first mug rug is gorgeous! You did that with your embroidery machine? Excellent. I like the other two, too.
I do like the design on the mug rugs but I agree with you, they won't want to pay the price and it is best to keep the price as low as possible and then hopefully it will sell. When are you leaving?
Mug Rugs are a fun project when done at one's own pace.
