Batik Colorwash 2 portrait......

Batik Colorwash 2 is finished!  I must say that is record time, in less than a month from beginning to end.  I usually let my pieces age a little (like 5 years) before they get quilted.  It ended up 38.5" square and I like the size.
This one ended up with a purple binding too.  It is a deep purple background with many shades of pink/blue/purple in the design.  Purple is a really good blender color to red/brown/blue/green which were the main colors along the edges of this quilt.  I had to print the label for this one and one other quilt when I got home from embroidery club and then I finished the binding last night when I got home from computer club.
Binding is done now on this mug rug.  I knew I wanted it to be orange but it had to wait until I had time to search for it.
I also got the binding on the 3 new African fabric mug rugs I made 2 days ago.
Then I decided they all needed to be in one photo.  I still have a few more scraps to play with, next week after I box up the final shipment of quilts for NC on Monday.  The other shipment got there yesterday, safe and sound.  What a relief, 24 of the quilts, 57 mug rugs and all of my class supplies and samples are there.
Today I am going to meet one of my blogger friends.  Her husband had business in this area so she came along and she is willing to drive all the way out here in the boonies to have lunch with me and see my quilts.

It looks just like you've got a light shining behind the color wash. It's amazing! The mug rugs are so celery too. Love the African prints!

I'm not much into taking classes but I'd take a colorwash class with you in a minute.

I think it has aged the perfect amount of time.
And how neat that it gets included in your show. It is a beauty, but then - all of yours are. Mugs rugs (mini art works) are gorgeous, and binding choices rock!

Enjoy your lunch. And yes, I think most of us would gladly drive out in the boonies for a chance to see your quilts.

Very happy for the successful shipment. I know you feel calmer now!

Your mug rugs just keep getting better and better . . .

I, too, would drive out "to the boonies" to have lunch with you and enjoy your quilts!!

Wanda it has been a wonderful treat to get this 'sneak preview' of all that you will be taking to N.C. Makes me feel like I am in 'your loop' (*._,*)

Batik Colorwash 2 is another awesome creation of yours. I think this one is my favorite of all your color washes.

I would so much love to come see your show. Would you please email me the details...when, where, etc. Daughter and I are heading to the East Coast for a month; I'm not sure how far south we will go... we definitely want to wander into some Confederate territory. But if I could finagle a side trip to see your show, it would be icing on the cake!

Love the colorwash Wanda especially how you use that animal print in there giving it such a different vibe.

Your mug rugs are really mini quilts taht could stand on their own. Love the bottom row right side one in orange/red and black and white. The one above it too!

Hi Wanda,
Your batik colorwash is outstanding! The eye moves all over then comes back to the "light". Wow.

I predict you will not have any mug rugs left after the show. Everyone will want a Wanda Original!

You have really perfected the color wash effect. All of these are show stoppers!

Colourwashes can be disappointing, as you need to get the pieces to blend together well. Yours is fabulous - the batiks really harmonise and flow across the quilt!

I just found your blog, and I love all of the color! You make batiks do things I didn't know they could do! Very inspiring. You are one prolific quilter.
