One block, lots of cleaning up.....

I only made one block yesterday.  I baked 2 batches of cookies for the art quilters group that is coming today and continued cleaning the basement.  It takes a long time to put away everything.  Every table has to be cleaned off, every design wall delinted with a lint roller.  I also clean my machines that are down there as well as one that one of the quilters leaves at my house.  I always finish up around 10 p.m.  And this is after 2 other days of picking up and putting things away.  The trick of course is to put everything in a place where I can find it after they leave, yes, that is a trick.

For everyone near Sandwich, IL, the Quilter's Heart closing sale continues this week with 40% off.  She is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 to 4.  If you come in the morning I will be there.  By mid-afternoon I need my nap......

I love yesterday's block - so bright and cheery. I find that tidying up often takes up more time than I imagine it will. I'm sure that today will be more fun!

You're my kind of gal - I need a nap by mid-afternoon also. Friends know not to call me then - won't answer! I'm loving your beautiful quilts.

Yes, that is definitely the trick!

Yes, I agree on your trick.... which is why some pick ups I want NO help.

Now reading your routine of getting ready..... it really must be written up and preserved for the future. You know, we have read in journals of the 1800's how women hauled out the wash tubs, etc. I do believe delinting the design walls will give furture "ladies" a chuckle.

Cleaning is not fun, but I like the results, but it never lasts. I like naps also. Chris

It's definitely the trick to put things where they can be easily found later!

Cleaning up your sewing area = necessary evil!

I guess my "design wall" need a good de-linting too...

When you figure out the 'trick' let me know what it is. I have spent a hour this morning looking for a charity quilt that I put away 'in a safe place'. I found it, but I am still looking for my red fabric bin. It's huge, so how come I can't find it? Enjoy your get together.

I am sure your Art Quilters always feel so welcome when they come to your workroom all neat and tidy. Plus cookies too !

And I too want to know "the trick" of REMEMBERING where you put everything. Is it our age ? (*._,*)

I hate cleaning up, but I can't work when things are a mess. So, a clean slate it is. You will show what you and the art quilters are doing today, won't you? Please? I see you're a bit warmer today, too. :)
