Top finished, binding chosen......

I know this photo doesn't look much different than the last time but it is all sewn now.  I was happy that the end borders fit just fine without a problem.  I have the binding tucked under the right side edge.
I need 17.5" of this narrow stripe fabric for the binding and I have 18" so I will be cutting it very carefully.  I think I might put a Kaffe stripe on the back because it is so soft and would make the quilt feel very lightweight.

I'm working at the quilt shop again this morning so I won't sew until afternoon.  I'm also trying to rearrange my main floor studio to the winter configuration.  I don't want to sit by the window in the winter.  If we get the winter they are predicting I think I will be in the studio a lot.  I will not drive on snow and ice unless absolutely necessary.  When I was younger I drove anywhere anytime.  I'm older and wiser now.

Older and wiser aren't we all. Funny how we had no fear. The quilt is beautiful. Hope you get the room rearranged. Chris

That is one bright and fun quilt! I like how you mixed smaller blocks in withe the 12.5 inch ones. Nice binding.

Funny how the weather thing affects us so much more as we are older. I find myself content to stay in too!

It's funny I search out more window space in the winter for the sunshine. I love the quilt and the way you mixed the block sizes.

Your quilt is beautiful! I have enjoyed watching you work through the selection and placement of fabrics. Enjoyed your new blooms, too.

I love the way this turned out and the stripe makes a great binding. Will you machine or hand finish the binding?

the quilt looks fantastic - I hope you don't have a bad winter but I know what you mean I don't get out in bad weather unless I absolutely have to. Why drive on it unless you need to. I get a lot of sewing done in the winter.

Really like the striped fabric for the border and binding. It sets off the squares nicely.

That is PERFECT! I love it.

Yes, we do become wiser about things like that, don't we? Just think of all you will get done this winter.

Love it!! I think I just added another pattern to my "must makes" with my Kaffe fabrics. Good thing I've got quite a collection of them lol.

It's stunning! Love the fabric you've chosen for the binding.
I'm thinking of moving my computer desk away from the window this winter.

Wanda, this one is just perfect. Every part of it flows into every other part and they all look so happy together!

Isn't it great when the weather gives us an excuse to stay in and craft?

Here I am just getting to your Friday post at 8:20 P.M.

It has been fun to watch your Checker Board grow to it's final stage. It truly is what I would call "simple elegance".
