One top together..........

My goal yesterday was to get this top sewn together and sew the staystitching line around the outside perimeter.  It finished at 64" x 80".  I have to decide now whether it needs a border.  The one in the book has one.

This is the book the directions are in and there are a few other fun quilts in it that I may have to make.  I have 3 of Karla's books and this is my favorite.

My son came over yesterday and cleaned all of the leaves out of my gutters and put on 2 storm windows.  He carried all of my porch pots around to the side of the garage where they will sit all winter.  I cleaned out some of the dead flower stalks and have a little more to finish today if it doesn't rain.

It is a beautiful quilt! The fabric choices are fabulous. I love Karla's books as well. She really has some great designs, plus they are fun to make too. Can't wait to see if you choose to border it or not.

I love the new quilt, I don't know why I thought it was a Kaffe pattern. I'm definitely going to take a look at the Karla Alexander book, I love bright, scrappy quilts.

How is your dad doing, and your critters? I haven't seen pictures of your squirrels lately, they're probably nice and plump from eating all the birds' food!

Gorgeous! Let us know if you decide on a border!

opps...put my no border comment on the wrong post... no border this quilt has plenty of movement and a border would take from that. If the quilt needs to be bigger, add more squares....

I love that quilt - what size squares did you use? I haven't made a patchwork in some time.
Great to be ready for winter and nice that your son comes over to help. you are lucky to have him.

Beautiful! Do you always stay stitch around the outside of a quilt?

Oh, how I love that quilt!! So cheerful with all those wonderful scrappy colours!
It has already begun to rain here. Think we're in for a day-long event of some heavy downpours.

BEAUTIFUL! I say no border, but I almost always say that. Karla Alexander is great. She lives in Salem, Oregon, my childhood home town.

A fun happy quilt ~ it has the warmth and whimsy of an old fashion patchwork. But with todays fabrics it is at the top of my list of favorites. Love it !

Real winter weather here today... Snowing and cold

The quilt is fabulous as it is...but maybe a crooked piano keys border could look good too!

I think it works with or without a border. the one in the book looks good with the border on it.

Hi Wanda, Top design looks great, would love to see some close up-s of the blocks. You could go either way with the border, I guess, maybe it would depend on end purpose for size needed, if bed need extra size for a bed say, otherwise I might leave it off, it reminds me of a cottage vintage style quilt.

VERY nice job! I have the book and the fabric for the cover quilt but maybe.........I'll have to put THAT aside and make this one! It's absolutely beautiful!

Karla Alexander is a member of my quilt guild here in Salem, Or. We usually see her book right off the printing press and we always have her quilts at our shows. She's using and teaching and pushing some new rulers now...so look out ; Check our fabric store 'Greenbaums Quilted Forest' they are her entry spot for new items.I have yet to use one of her patterns exactly as she designed them...fear of judgment, perhaps ;) but I do love looking at them and they always go well with Kaffe fabrics.

Out of Line is beautiful Wanda! It looks great without a border, but I see the photo in the book and that looks good too! I'm no help.
