The sun was shining yesterday morning so I got my dusting done in the living/dining room. I only like to do it when it is bright in there. Then I went down to the basement and removed the batik Winding Ways from the design wall. I started sewing the rows together. Nobody told me that making the blocks was the only fun part of this. I took out the seam between the first 2 blocks twice and finally got the points to match. It got a little easier as I worked on it and I have 3 rows sewn together so far. I did take out a few more places where the points weren't meeting to my satisfaction.
Then I sewed 16 more of the hand dyed blocks and put them up on a design wall to see how they look. There is a lot more variety yet to sew. I don't know if they will all go in the same quilt or be 2 smaller ones.
The centers on some of the blocks are off by about a 16th of an inch and I haven't decided whether to take them out and try again or just leave them. I'll have plenty of time to think about it because I have a lot more sewing to do on other projects.
Several times this week I sewed a few blocks for this quilt so I put them up on the double wall that I had taken the Winding Ways off of. Right now it would sew up at 56" x 72" so I may be done with it. I don't think it would look too bad with a narrow border and then a wider one if I decide it needs to be larger.

Progress is being made at your house. Both are really looking great. Another gray day here today. Turn on the lights and keep on sewing. Chris
Do you really think anyone will notice that your points are off once it is quilted ? Or are you expecting the quilt police ? It is great the way it is.
You get an amazing amount of sewing done! Yesterday I was so annoyed at how long it will take for my car to be fixed that I only sewed one (one!!) mug rug (they have to take the engine apart). I spent the rest of the day trying to match fabrics and nothing was coming together.
Anyway, one thing I'm not a fan of is unsewing, I'd almost rather take a whupping LOL. I'd leave that puppy alone - I admire your tenacity, though. I'm loving your undulating blocks, I'm a scrappy fan and it's very pretty. I know the blocks are square, but because that Kaffe design undulates it makes me want to say "Oh how clever she was to align them so perfectly!" Sew forth and sew on.
I am always amazed at how much sewing you get done! I think I am in love with your hand dyed WW! I love those fabrics. And the Kaffe quilt is fantastic too! So scrappy and I love scrappy! As for unsewing...I never enjoy doing it, but when it is finished I am glad that I took the time to be a perfectionist.
The tops are looking good and according to your Accu Weather a good place to be is indoors. 82F for a high today and a low of 66F tonight... not missing the cold temps. Thanksgiving isn't going to be too traditional here!
you did a bit. I don't think I had seen the patchwork quilt you are making, I must have missed that. It is nice looking.

I really like that last quilt. It has a great optical effect. I may have to make one of those some day.
Looking good, I made one of those quilts. It was a kit I purchased was fun to make since all the pieces were pre cut. Love your scrap quilt too.
Wow! You are so disciplined. I just fritter my day away. Can't remember ever dusting anything.
Love them both! Does the second pattern have a name?
1/16th of an inch! I'd be leaving them if it were me, but then that's why I don't quilt. You have to be so precise, and you are right on!!!
Wanda, they are both so beautiful and so you - bursting with color and personality!
Two stunning quilts in one post! Gorgeous work!
For the quilt with the uneven squares, did you use the ruler, or did you make your own template? I am thinking about buying the ruler, but not sure.
Love these hand dyes for this pattern.
I am with you when it comes to house cleaning. Not much fun when all these fabrics are waiting in your studio!
Love that bottom quilt . . .
Your winding way blocks are LOVELY ~ but that kind of precision would make me REALLY cranky!
The Winding Ways in the hand-dyed fabrics remind me of stained glass. That is going to be another stunning quilt or two!
Very fun piecing. I like the curves and I can't image the patience that you have.
I really like this quilt. From a distance it looks like the seems are curved.
I am working on the very same pattern of the wonky blocks and just took it off the wall to sew the rows together. I love this block, but...it sure got confusing at times when I was sewing and trying to lay it out!! Love the colors in yours...so nice.
