A backyard view...........

The only things I could taken a photo of yesterday were the vacuum cleaner and dust rag.  I thought you might rather see my back garden.  I'm going to take photos every 2 weeks to show how it all fills in.  This is facing left.  Several trees and/or big limbs were removed last year so I will be able to get into the gardens easier.
This is moving a little to the right.  To the left in this photo is the Brunnera I showed yesterday and in the center there will be lots of hostas.

A little farther right.
The bird feeders are in this photo as well as my birdbath.

This is all the way to the right.  Here if you click to enlarge you can see the peonies are getting tall and the redbud trees are pinking up.

I am expecting out of town guests so I had to move many, many quilts and wallhangings off the guest bed.  I rolled most of my wallhangings into huge rolls.  Here is an example from an earlier time.

4 butterflies..........

I chose one more pair of fabrics and made four new Kaffe collective butterflies.

Here are all eight blocks so far.  I have no idea how many blocks I will make or what size this quilt will be.  I will just work on it now and then until I'm tired of it.

I took my camera out to the back garden and saw that the Brunnera is blooming.  It was barely up the last time I took photos.  We have had a lot of rain and several sunny days so things are popping up fast.
The Lungwort/Pulmonaria is the earliest bloomer in my gardens.

I should have raked the front garden because this hosta has really grown in the last week.  It is supposed to be in the low 80s on Saturday so if it isn't too wet maybe I can get that bed cleaned up.  The weeds are doing well too.  The dandelions are starting to bloom.

Searching for fabric............

I spent most of the day yesterday pressing fabric and cutting with my die cutter.  By evening I was ready for a change.  I started looking for pairs of fabric to continue making butterfly blocks.  I have 22 "bodies" made so I need to come up with 22 pairs of wing fabrics.  Here is the post that shows the pattern.  I have some housecleaning to do too so I will have a variety of tasks for the rest of this week.

Trip Around the World top finished.........

Last night I sewed the last 10 seams and finished this top.  It is 70.5" x 93.5".  The distance view is dramatic but close up I enjoy all of the wonderful 30s reproduction fabrics.  I made a smaller quilt very similar to this 30 years ago and finished it with prairie points matching the color sequence all around the edge.  I don't have any plans to do that again but never say never........it might seem like a good idea some day.

New stash.........

The new spring Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics are out.  Kaffe did some recoloring of old favorites.  I love the new colors of Paper Fans.

Dream is one of his newer fabrics and I think this is the third group of colors for it.  I should be able to use some of these flowers in my Seed Packet quilt.  I need to get that back up on the design wall.

Beautiful batiks.........

I have been busy, just not much to show.  I spent 2 hours yesterday going through two shelves of batiks to choose some to cut for batik colorwash kits to sell.  This stack is 110 fabrics.  I hope to have the rest chosen and all cut, sorted, and packaged by the end of the week.

More long seams.......

It is so easy to match all of the intersections in this quilt because they are only 2" apart.  As soon as I sew onto one, I match the next one and put my finger on top of it and ride it all the way to the presser foot.  Then sew across that seam and match the next one.
I got 12 more long rows sewn together last night.

I spent part of the day doing a little sewing for a friend and then errands.  It was chilly but is going to be up to high 70s by Sunday.
