I'm not into seasonal decor most of the time. One thing I do change is the quilt on the bench in front of the fireplace. This quilt has all of the colors of the fall leaves: yellow, gold, orange, burgundy/purple and some golden brown. I'm only missing red. The back has leaves of all the same colors. A tree 2 houses south has the deep burgundy/purple leaves. I first showed this quilt in August 2007 and it was already finished then so I'm not sure what year it was completed.
I baked the chocolate chip cookies mid-morning yesterday. I tested them, and they passed the test.
Shortly before lunch time I baked the frosted creams. The whole process takes time because they have to cool completely before I put the frosting on so it was mid-afternoon by the time I had them cut and in 3 boxes. We're going back into a string of 80s again. I think this is too early to consider it the last hot spell we will have. I was enjoying the 70s.......and I'll enjoy the 50s overnights while it's in the 80s during the days.

I love your vibrant fall quilt. Have 80 degree days is so much easier to take when the overnight temperatures are much lower. We had a bit more rain yesterday, a nice calm rain so no need to close the windows. I hope you have a lovely time at the wedding and enjoy your family…….I know they’ll enjoy the cookies :). Thanks for the tip on finding your recipes.
Lovely Fall quilt, Wanda--makes me wonder if we will have any color this year what with the dry dry summer we've just had...I see a few early maple leaves orange-ing up in our back yard forest area...and some yellowing of our ash trees...just a tinge though...
66 here this morning. I planted a small packet of winter Rye in our little growing box this morning to nourish the soil for next year...I had done this when I had an in-ground garden at our other house and it produced fabulous soil for the next season...
Going to try to get my 4 Star blocks together today...[I had to resort to scissor cutting for the last two..evidently I cannot cut on a straight marked line very well:(((!!!]
Hugs for a great upcoming weekend Julierose
That quilt i so pretty! I don't remember ever seeing it. The cookies look yummy and I know everyone will appreciate them. Even though the temps dropped, the humidity here was still very high so no opening the windows happened. The rain we received over the last three days has been so nice.
What a gorgeous autumn quilt! It will delight your eye every time you glance its way all through the season.
We had a noisy thunderstorm in the wee hours last night and may have rain day and night tomorrow. If nothing changes, our high on Friday will be 65*F and the low that night, 48*F!
I'm off to check your recipes. Thanks!
Hugs!
Such pretty colors in your fall quilt! Enjoy these sunny days.
What a beautiful quilt for fall! Here's to a grand weekend for you.
I have not made chocolate chip cookies in ages I need to put the chips on my grocery list! I love the fall quilt, I think I mainly just put out Xmas quilts in late November and maybe a table runner at other parts of the year - I need to remember I have a pumpkin runner I made it two years ago I think and completely forgot about it last year
A perfect place to display your seasonal quilts. This autumn quilt just pulls you in for a closer look at your ‘exuberant’ fabrics. A lovely vignette you have created for your quilts. . . .fun to see the delicious sweets to treat your family.
