I need more pieces in my personal collection of batik colorwash squares so while I'm cutting I'm making more kits to sell too. I have 102 fabrics cut so far and will need 240 total. I always lay out one kit grouped by color as I'm cutting so I make sure I get a good variety in the kit.
I went out between rainstorms and took this photo of the almost fully opened Dahlia. There are a few buds but the one shown is the closest to blooming. We got over a half inch of rain yesterday.
This one has just started opening on another plant. I brought these 2 plants into the garage and just put the rest of them up by the garage. A possible frost was predicted at 10 p.m yesterday.

Oh that dahlia is beautiful! Excited about the kits..always wanted to try colorwash quilts
I have not had much luck with Dahlias .... unless they are fabric!!! But these look so lemony and bright!!!
beautiful flower! we finally got rain last night, it is still a little dark to see the rain gauge but will check later to see what we got, might get more tomorrow morning, we could actually use a couple inches it is very dry here - they have almost been to the point of starting burn bans in our area
Yes, that Dahlia is a beauty. I would be tempted to cut it and pop it into a vase. We had some rain last night and showers today in between some sunshine. Definitely getting colder now and time to get my thermals out. I'm sewing some kiddie bags for presents so plenty to keep me busy :)
Yo have such a green thumb...the Dahlia is so beautiful! If you are cutting I want a kit, so one kit is claimed.
I ordered about 6 charm packs of batiks this week to do this very thing. Hopefully I can have enough with your set for a large throw!
I saw some beautiful yellow dahlias yesterday and I thought about you. Glad you rescued them from the frost.
Very pretty dahlias. I grew them for the first time this year, smaller variety but lots of blooms. A very happy spot in the garden. I would buy one of your kits as well, if it isn't too early to put in a claim!
That is a lot of cutting! You cut them with a machine right? The dahlia is gorgeous! I was so warm here last night I sleep with the windows open. We got some rain at 3 a.m. No more is shown for today, but it is overcast this morning. I guess the sun is suppose to show itself this afternoon.
Glad you were able to save your dahlias from the frost! I have a questions about your zig zag quilt that you made with your Kaffe fabrics. I am making a similar quilt with solid fabrics (by request of my son). I am having a terrible time getting all the points to line up. I am not going to worry about it all being perfect, but needs to be a little more precise. I looked back at your posts about the making of the Kaffe quilt and you didn't specify what method you used to construct the blocks. Do you have any hints? You can see what I have done on my blog PondHollowQuilts.blogspot.com I think the fact that I am using solid fabrics makes the intersections of the seams more noticeable. Thank you!
How do I get a kit? Thank you!
What a beautiful batik on the left hand side - glorious,
