Finished........

Finish # 3 for 2016.  I worked on the binding several times yesterday and finished early in the evening.  It is about 58" x 68.5".

I modified this piece, adding more red geese and changing out the blue corners for red/pink ones.  Go here to see the before photo.  I will sew this one now and the plan is to make it the center of a medallion quilt.  I will switch the positions of the bottom 2 stars since the 2 on the left look too much alike.  This will only be about 28" square when sewn.

Going to remember clean up cuts and start saving those separately! Lovely finish!

Lovely quilts! Changing out the corners was a wonderful choice. I look forward to seeing how your medallion quilt grows.

I love how you changed this. The red really holds it together. I love medallion quilts, I just never know how to move out from the center with other blocks or sashes so the center stays on focus but yet belongs to the whole quilt.

You are off to a great start. Both are beautiful. I like the idea of using that one as a medallion quilt.

Like the new corners, the blue was too bold, I think, ( just my opinion) And will wait to see what you add round this, stunning, as always.

I wouldn't switch the stars if I were you. I think the four are balanced where they are. Reasons?

- You have the same blue on TL and BR
- the same asian/dark rounded flower both BL and TR
- the same bright green is in the centre of TL and BR

All those make the fours stars balanced to me. If you switch two of the stars you'll upset some of those balances.

I look forward to seeing the next rounds of the medallion!

Great finish Wanda, and I LOVE your medallion centre! I think I just might have to start playing with one. I've pinned a few for inspiration and yours will now be part of that thinking. Just fabulous.

Now you know I had to go back and see the "before" picture. It is gorgeous, too, but you're right - this version is better. I am pretty sure I would have been thrilled if I had put together one as pretty as the first one, and I'm real sure I would have stopped there. See, I'm always learning from and being impressed by you!
