Colorwash............

While I was in the basement doing laundry I cut some more rectangles for this colorwash that I started on Dec. 14.  Here it is the day I started it.  It takes a long time to get out the fabric and cut when I need just one rectangle from each piece of fabric.  I need to speed up my cutting because this needs to be off my wall in 9 days when the art quilters group comes here.

When I was down there I had just one light on over to the side of this strippy quilt and it really showed off the texture of the quilting.

The quilt is gorgeous and I'm intrigued with the quilting. Is this freehand or did you use a channel lock on your machine? And are the lines sewn all one direction or alternated starting from one side then the other. Lovely, however the process.

It always amazes me how light shows off different looks. Your colorwash is very interesting also. Will be anxious to see the finished piece. Chris

I think the texture on the quilt looks wonderful - I did feel like I could just run my hands over it and feel it - the photo was that good!

Great colors, great texture, a real wow quilt! I like Carol's questions about the how of quilting it.

How about telling us how many different fabrics are in this quilt? The colors and quilting are perfect.

I love that stripy quilt and am impressed by the amount of quilting you put in it. I know I wouldn't have had the patience to quilt it that thoroughly! I, of course, never would've quilted it myself in the first place, but rather sent it out; precisely because I don't have the patience or ability to quilt a large quilt like that. Even if I could do it, I would've stopped long before I got as far as you did. But it looks marvelous, and I know it sill hold up really well!

Both photos are so lovely and so fun! On the strippy quilt, what is it's size and are all of the pieces the same size? Beautiful!
